Skincare Routine Changes To Make Today

People put off a skincare routine for years because they think it is too expensive or time-consuming. However, this does not have to be the case. Changing a person’s skincare regimen could make all the difference in wrinkles and dark spots. Below are seven simple things you should consider changing today.

Consider Switching from Bar Soap to Body Wash

Most soaps contain harsh chemicals, such as Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS), which has been shown to strip away lipids on your outermost layer of skin. Also, it can dry out patches of skin, cause dermatitis flare-ups and create acne breakouts when used regularly. Bar soap may be what is causing your skin to break out.

In contrast, body wash is much gentler on the skin and can help moisturize your outermost layer without stripping away vital lipids. After all, who wants dry patches or acne?

To make this switch easier for you, try using a fragrance-free soap bar along with a lighter lotion that contains ingredients such as aloe vera and shea butter. This will still get your skin clean but also hydrated at the same time.

Consider Exfoliating once Every Day

Exfoliation removes dead cells from the surface of your skin, which helps improve its texture by getting rid of rough patches and preventing wrinkles. You should use an exfoliator made for sensitive skin that contains ingredients such as glycolic acid, lactic acid, or retinol.

Consider using a Humidifier in your Home

Humidifiers can be great for those with allergies and respiratory issues. Why? Because increasing the air’s moisture content helps clear out mucous and other irritants from the environment. It can also help alleviate dry skin patches through moisturizing while relieving coughs by coating irritated nasal passages. If you have questions about purchasing one, talk to an employee at your local hardware store.

Consider Changing up your Shampoo/conditioner Every Month

While experiments show people might not need to change their hair products every time they wash them, some experts recommend doing so monthly if there’s something in your shampoo or conditioner that may cause you to break out.

Consider using a Night Cream for your Face

Night creams are formulated with heavier and richer ingredients than daytime lotions. Thus, giving the skin what it needs after a long day of exposure to environmental stressors such as harsh sunlight or chemicals from our environment. It also helps create an anti-aging barrier by plumping up lines and wrinkles.

Consider Drinking More Water

Hydration is key to plumped and radiant skin. When we don’t get enough water, our bodies use moisture from tissues like the epidermis - the outer layer of our skin - to function. The result? Dry, cracked skin.

Consider a Daily Workout Regime

Get moving. Exercise releases endorphins, making you happier and boosting circulation throughout your body, including your face - which helps prevent wrinkles. Working up a sweat is not only good for your physical well-being but also contributes to a healthy, glowing complexion.

Final Thoughts

Suppose these changes seem too much work. Visit a dermatology medical building where professionals do all the above steps plus extractions (removing blackheads) and provide deep moisturizing treatments. Therefore, you won’t have to worry about it again after each visit.

It is essential to take care of your skin because it is the only one you have. Whether you are an adult or a child, taking good care of your skin will help prevent problems that may arise in the future. Also, it will keep wrinkles at bay by moisturizing with products specifically for this purpose. Keeping fresh, unblemished skin not only makes us feel more confident but can make us look younger, too.
