Protect Skin From Environmental Stressors With Pycnogenol

An extract from the French Maritime pine bark known as pycnogenol is a supplement that can assist in protecting the skin from damage due to being outside. It assists in maintaining hydration, benefits skin elasticity, and improves the barrier in the skin that protects it from pollutants while keeping the hydration within the skin from being absorbed into the air.

When used in addition to regular skincare and sunscreen products it has shown to improve the skin condition after exposure to the sun and other elements. The high antioxidant content encourages the healing of any damaged cells as well as growth of healthy cells that take their place.

In the event of sun damage the damaged cells can repair themselves. New, healthy cells grow beneath the layers of skin and move towards the surface as the dead skin cells are shed, leaving the healthy cells on the surface of the skin.

Pycnogenol improves the health of the cells that provide the natural skin barrier that protects the layers of skin from outside pollutants and keeps the hydration of the skin within the skin barrier.

This barrier is necessary for keeping skin from drying out as well as delaying or avoiding damage caused by the sun, environmental pollutants, and from wind and other elements.

The high levels of antioxidants fight the damage caused by free radicals found in the environment and reduce their ability to cause damage to the skin and other cells within the body.

Boosting and healing damaged cells

The acids and other chemicals present within this compound boost the creation of elastin and collagen within the skin. The elastin is responsible for allowing the skin to bounce back after being stretched and avoids the formation of wrinkles on the skin.

As the collagen is increased it decreases wrinkles and this combination can not only slow the signs of aging but can also reduce the signs of wrinkles, fine lines, and age spots after they have already occurred. By boosting the healing of the damaged cells the age spots or sun spots can be decreased and faded, creating and even skin tone.

This extract can be used alone or with other products. It also works well when added to other products and formed into a new skincare routine. It can safely be used daily and in any combination of skincare products or routines to reduce aging, boost hydration, and create healthy skin cells.
