Tips To Protect Your Skin

Neglecting to treat your skin right can ultimately have unsavory consequences. So many people who have okay skin for most of their lives have a rude awakening when all of a sudden they have to deal with dry skin, acne, discoloration or some other sign that they haven't given their skin the attention that they should have. Be proactive with your face and make concerted efforts to protect your skin. It will return the favor by how it looks in the long run.

Cleanse And Exfoliate

There is really no need for all the expensive, over-the-counter cleansers and exfoliates that department stores try to peddle to the masses. The truth is that many people can have glowing, gorgeous, clear skin using completely natural ingredients that you can find in your pantry or the health food store.

You can cleanse your skin with coconut oil and apple cider vinegar. You can also exfoliate marvelously with baking soda and sugar. There's really no need to spend so much money for results that can be easily obtained with natural products that are actually good for you.

Hydrate

This doesn't just mean drink water, which is obviously incredibly important. This means moisturizing your skin on a daily basis. Depending on the environmental factors, your diet and heredity, your skin will need a different level of moisture during different seasons and require different levels of moisture.

Keep some natural botanical oils in your possession to always keep your skin properly tended to. Dry skin often leads to many different issues. Namely those with dry skin are more susceptible to showing premature signs of aging. When you properly nourish and hydrate your skin, it in turn looks and does what it's meant to.

Sunscreen

This is something that many people dont understand the importance of - especially during the summer months. We know that slathering or spraying ourselves with sunscreen before a long day in the sun is an absolute must. But what we often don't think about is our need to do this throughout the year, even on cold, windy, rainy days.

The sun is powerful and forceful and it still permeates clouds. It still does damage on cold and dreary days. Always remember sun block.

Toner

Oil, dirt and dead skin cells can easily get caught in the skin. It's important to use natural products that also have astringent qualities as toners. This helps to tighten pores and prevent other contaminants from getting into the skin. When you tone correctly you are essentially shielding your face from any harmful or harsh elements that may try to rest on your face. Natural toners include witch hazel and apple cider vinegar.
