The Origin Of Honesty Oil

The fact that there is an oil referred to as honesty is likely a surprise to many of you reading this. It's not a very well-known oil, nor is it an oil that is widely available. However, the benefits and functions of this oil are so impressive, they had to be explored and explained.

The official name of the flower from which this oil is derived is lunaria annua. The blossoms are a pretty pink and purple color that is eye-catching. It is considered a biennial plant that has now been naturalized in many of the temperate parts of the world. Here are ways in which this sparely known oil can be used.

Heals Wounds

In various parts of Asia, this plant was used traditionally in the treatment of wounds and scars. One of the most essential elements of proper wound treatment is to address the wound at once. While scarring is something that can often be the result of a nasty wound, when the injury is treated immediately there is a better chance it will heal completely, quickly and without significant scarring.

Honesty oil cleans and sanitizes the injury as well as helps promote the healing process.

Prevents Bruising

Some people are naturally predisposed to bruising easily while others have only experienced a bruise once or twice in their lives. For those who want to prevent bruising, or to even treat a bruise that is already starting to form, some honesty oil would do the trick. This is because, historically, it has been used to prevent the pooling of blood in an injured area that causes the bruising to occur.

The oil can be made into a salve by mixing it with some hardened coconut oil or cocoa butter. Apply this mixture on and around where the injury occurred and you'll notice that your bruising won't be as severe and it won't last as long.

Painful Periods

If you are a woman who experiences painful periods, any little bit of relief or comfort is very much appreciated. It can be so hard to function when menstruation is incredibly painful. Rubbing a bit of this oil on the lower abdomen during your cycle will provide you some ease from the aching and cramps that you often experience during that time of the month.

Mix it with the carrier oil of your choice before applying. Jojoba, coconut and apricot oil are good choices.

Muscle Aid

For the type of people that lead very active lifestyles, exercise is surely a component of their days. When you are constantly moving your body at such a rate, certain aches, pains and injuries are bound to happen. This is why it is so essential to stretch every single time you workout. Even still, this precaution can't stop all the workout-related injuries.

Honesty oil has been known to penetrate and soothe aching or pulled muscles. If you happen to go a little overboard and your workout is too strenuous you may injure yourself. Treat the area with honesty oil. Rub it deep into the tissue as best you can for the best results.
