No time or money for a trip to the spa? No problem! You can engage in a steam treatment for skin right at home. It’s simple, effective, and it feels absolutely divine.

Plus, there are many benefits to working this into your skincare routine each week. It’s the perfect Saturday or Sunday morning ritual that you can do with water or herbal tea to reveal your most gorgeous skin.

So what can steam treatments do for you?

Once you finish reading this list, you’ll likely be headed off to go steam-treat your skin. Do it!

Steam treatments cleanse

The steam opens your pores up to loosen any build-up caught in there to help give you a deeper cleanse. And if you have blackheads, it’s a must. Steaming makes it easier to get rid of them.

Steam treatments boost circulation

Warm steam along with your perspiration causes the blood vessels to dilate and the flow of circulation, bringing oxygen to your skin cells to give you a gorgeous glow.

Steam treatments help hydrate

As it cleanses, it hydrates. This restores balance to your skin’s natural oil- producing functions to help it moisturize the face.

Steam treatments allow your products to absorb better

Your topical treatments will all absorb deeper and do more good for your skin.

Steam treatments provide more collagen and elastin

With the improved circulation comes the things our skin desperately needs – collagen and elastin. Your skin becomes firmer and more youthful from practicing this soothing ritual.

Plus, doing it at home is so easy and affordable!

Tips For Steam Treatments At Home

All you really need is a bowl or sink filled with hot water or warm towels. You can also invest in a home facial steamer, but a bowl will work just perfectly.

Whichever method you use, keep your eyes closed. It’s relaxing anyway, but do mind how close you get. Your face should be six to 10 inches away to avoid burns. Set a timer for 10 minutes and you’ll be done.

After you finish your steam treatment, rinse your skin and dab it dry. Then, apply your favorite moisturizing serum or cream.

Choose something extra nourishing, and if looking younger is what you want, choose an anti-aging formula. Massage the products gently into your skin with upward strokes and then enjoy how your skin looks and feels.

Steam treatments for skin will benefit just about everyone so give it a try. The only excepts are if you have rosacea, very dry skin, or eczema. These skin types may find the steam makes things worse.

Experiment with using herbal teas or essential oils too. These can help calm or invigorate your mood, leaving you feeling refreshed from your skin on inward!
