There will always be times when you're super rushed or need to leave the house without much warning. Get into the habit of doing these three things every single day and you'll remember them no matter what.
Pack a Makeup Bag
In case you skimped before you left the house or you need a do-over, be sure you always have these items with you. The best way to do that is to pack a makeup bag. Never take anything out of it to use at home - except for replacements - because you may forget to put it back.
Consider a see-through bag to prevent excess rummaging. Your makeup bag needs lip balm, a hairbrush with a few scrunchies around the handle, allergy eye drops, combination moisturizer and sunscreen in case you find yourself outside all day, a spare pair of sunglasses, dental floss, a mirror and a pair of tweezers because a stray hair where you don't want it can be obsessed over all day.
This is your basic content. There may be other things you rely on like contact lens solution or dry shampoo. Remember, though, that less is more and people are always happier traveling light. If you try to pack in too much, it could become so heavy that you start deciding to leave it at home.
Wash Your Face and Moisturize it
Washing your face doesn't need to be an ordeal. It can even be done at the kitchen sink while waiting for your coffee to brew. Find a good, multipurpose cleaner. Squirt some in your hand, make suds, and apply all over your face.
Keep a clean supply of exfoliating washcloths nearby. After your sudsing step is done. Use a washcloth to remove all traces of dirt, makeup and dead skin cells. Rinse and go over your face as many times as you need to until it feels absolutely clean. Your coffee probably still won't be ready even after washing thoroughly.
Immediately after washing, hopefully while your skin is a bit wet, apply moisturizer. Make this a double-duty one that has sunscreen in it. Applying moisture while your skin is damp will help lock in the moisture and keep it there.
Combining sunscreen means you don't need to remember a second step on your face and gets you out the door more quickly. Remembering these steps will help ensure that your face isn't greasy or tight as you go about your day. If you find yourself outside all day, you'll also be glad you chose a moisturizer with sunscreen.
Grab a Protein and a Water
Coffee and tea are great at waking you up and helping you think. However, they both contain caffeine and that compound serves as a diuretic. This means that shortly after you drink your chosen beverage, you may begin to feel thirsty.
It also means that your skin won't be getting the moisture it needs and will start to look tight. Constantly dehydrated skin is also one cause of wrinkles.
When your thirst hits, you might not be anywhere near a water source so bringing water with you wherever you go is essential.
Temperature affects plastic water bottles and they are also bad for the environment. Instead, invest in a stainless steel or glass bottle. If you worry about the quality of your community's water, get a filter for your bottle.
Your other essential is protein. At some point, after you leave the house, hunger will hit and your thinking skills will plummet. Protein is the best nutrient for quickly fixing this dilemma.
Research sources of protein, stock up on some of your favorites, and always have them right by the door so you can grab one quickly on your way out.
Do yourself a favor and be prepared every day by getting used to these three tips. You will always look and feel good and never have the feeling that you left something behind.
