Rosacea is a skin condition that leaves parts of the face red - namely the cheeks, forehead, chin and nose. It can be a very obvious and annoying skin condition to deal with as it's hard to hide. Usually people who have fair skin are more susceptible to suffering from this condition. Women who are between the ages of 30 to 60 deal with this type of skin issue more than others.
The way rosacea manifests itself is by a burning sensation, swelling, red patches, swollen eyelids and dry skin. The bright red color of the skin is typical of sufferers. The cause of the skin condition can't necessarily be pinpointed but there are natural ways to combat the appearance of rosacea.
Chamomile Tea
Known as one of the best teas to consume in order to relax or to help aid sleep, chamomile tea has naturally soothing and cooling properties that help those who suffer from rosacea. The ingredients are flavonoids and terpenoids that help to properly calm the skin and promote anti-inflammatory reactions.
So not only will it help with the inflammation that is common in these cases but it will also help to lessen and mitigate the common redness. Steep a few bags of chamomile tea in boiling water. Let cool and use a dampened cloth to treat the affected parts of the face.
Lavender Oil
This oil is a natural antiseptic which allows it to disinfect and clean the face properly. Typically the face can be incredibly susceptible to dirt, oil and debris. This helps to clean the areas in a way that isn't irritating or harmful. It also has anti-inflammatory properties which help to mitigate the swelling and the puffiness that is often seen in those who suffer from rosacea.
Use a cotton ball soaked with pure lavender oil to treat all the parts of the face that show signs of the condition. Luckily the properties of the oil help to shrink the blood vessels in the face that become noticeable and contribute to the redness.
Honey
Not just any type of honey will do. The organic and natural honey is the best option for this type of condition. There are powerful antimicrobials present in honey that provide necessary positive effects on the health of the skin, thus helping to treat the underlining issues of dryness or heat that can sometimes cause rosacea.
It's a great moisturizer that can help to mitigate the appearance of rosacea and of acne. Use a couple of tablespoons of raw honey on your face and massage it into your skin. Let it set for at least 15 minutes and then rinse off with cold water.
Aloe Vera
The gel within this plant has amazing healing properties. It is used on sunburnt skin for a reason as it properly and effectively rejuvenates and provides necessary cooling to the skin. So the redness and irritation that so often goes along with it can be minimized and even removed completely by the use of aloe vera.
Using it straight from the plant is advised. Let the gel dry on the skin and rinse off with water.
