Aging can be brutal for the skin. As the individual ages, the skin starts losing elasticity, which often leads to the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles on the skin. These lines tend to appear more prominently around areas where the skin is thinner and fragile, like the face, especially under the eyes.

The lines become more and more visible with age and no one can escape its wrath. Other than internal factors like aging and genetics, various external factors also contribute to these problems. Environmental pollution, extreme stress, and undernourishment have sped up the process of under-eye lines and wrinkles.

Since these lines and wrinkles can’t be completely avoided, one can delay their appearance and reduce the intensity. It can be done by taking good care of the skin and eating well. Here are some ways to prevent and reduce under-eye lines:

Use Sunscreen

The harmful UV rays of the sun can do the most damage to one's skin. Hence, a sunscreen of SPF 25 or higher must be worn at all times, especially while stepping out. A good quality sunblock not only prevents fine lines and wrinkles from appearing before age, but it also protects the skin from irreversible damage.

Wear Sunglasses

Direct exposure to the sun’s harmful rays can cause squinting of the eyes. It leads to the formation of wrinkles if done frequently. Hence, the use of sunglasses is an absolute must whenever you’re stepping out. For maximum benefits, invest in a good quality pair with UV protection and wear them every time you go out in the sun.

Quit Smoking

Frequent smokers are highly likely to prematurely develop fine lines and wrinkles on their facial skin, especially around the eyes, It’s because of the free radicals that are present in the cigarette smoke that blocks the supply of oxygen into the skin. By stopping smoking these free radicals don’t get to interfere with the skin, increasing the oxygen supply to the skin, making it stronger and less prone to wrinkles.

Use Of Under Eye Product

As mentioned above, several environmental and lifestyle factors contribute to the formation of fine lines under the eyes. Since these external factors can’t be avoided, extra care must be taken by the use of good quality under eye creams and serums. Skinactive Intensive eye therapy is one of the best products for under-eye care. It improves skin appearance by replacing collagen and lifting and firming skin structure. It also alleviates crow’s feet under the eyes and deflates the puffiness of the eyes.

Microneedling

Don't worry; it's not as scary as it sounds. Microneedling, also known as derma rolling, is presently regarded as one of the best non-invasive techniques for the skin, which results in a younger-looking, plumper skin. In this procedure, a small roller device fitted with microneedles is rolled back and forth on the skin. The microneedles trigger the skin, which results in a boost of collagen and elastin production, making the skin around the eyes repair itself. It is a general procedure and is usually done on the neck and face. The microneedles are very gentle, hence can be used safely around the eyes.

Drinking Water

Keeping yourself hydrated throughout the day is the solution to most of life’s problems! On a serious note, dehydration is caused if one doesn’t drink enough water throughout the day. This dehydration manifests itself into wrinkles and fine lines on the skin, especially around the eyes. By keeping the skin hydrated, one can prevent the occurrence of these fine lines along with shooing away other issues like acne, blackheads, discoloration, and dryness.

Under Eye Massage

Everyone loves a good massage, but we tend to ignore our eye area most of the time! One must make it a part of their nightly routine. By investing just two minutes massaging the under eyes every night, you can prevent fine lines and wrinkles from appearing. Apply a small amount of serum or moisturizer on your index finger, and in a circular motion, gently massage the product into your skin. It will help open up pores, reduce puffiness, and help tighten the under-eye skin.

For healthy skin that is free of fine lines and wrinkles, one must ensure a healthy diet, full of all essential nutrients, micronutrients, and antioxidants. Additionally, the use of good quality under-eye care products can do a great job of preventing and reducing under-eye lines.
