To detoxify your body, follow a specific diet, and use particular products. When you detoxify, you will promote weight loss and improve your health. However, your body can eliminate the toxins on its own since it is well-equipped, and you minimally require supplements and special foods to help in the process.

Practice the following nutritional tips to detoxify your body and increase your overall energy.

Minimize Alcohol Intake

Most of the alcohol you consume gets metabolized in the liver. The liver enzymes will metabolize the drink to a cancer-causing chemical called acetaldehyde. Your liver recognizes this chemical as a toxin and thus converts it into acetate, a harmless substance. Your body will, later on, eliminate acetate. Therefore, when you consume a lot of alcohol, the level of acetaldehyde will increase more than your liver can handle. The toxin leads to cancer.

While most of the studies recommend that moderate-to-low alcohol consumption has some health benefits, you can get a myriad of health-related problems when you drink excessively. Your liver can get damaged when you drink too much. It can experience scarring, inflammation, and fat buildup from excessive alcohol intake.

When it gets affected, it cannot function appropriately, such as failing to filter wastes and other body toxins. Therefore, to keep the detoxification systems in the body functioning correctly, abstain, or limit your alcohol intake. The health experts recommend that you limit your drinking to two drinks per day for men and one drink per day for women.

Drink Water

Make sure that you drink a lot of water. Water helps in many functions in your body besides quenching your thirst. It lubricates the joints, detoxifies your body through the removal of waste products, and aids in nutrient absorption. Additionally, water helps in the regulation of your body temperature and helps in the digestion process.

For the cells to break down nutrients to energy and optimally function, they should get repaired regularly. The cell processes release many wastes in the form of carbon dioxide and urea. When these wastes are left to build up in the blood, they cause more harm.

Water aids in the transportation of these waste products and helps the body in removing them through sweating, breathing, and urination. Therefore, ensure that you keep your body properly hydrated. Men should drink 3.7 liters – 125 ounces - and women 2.7 liters – 91 ounces of water daily. Depending on your activity level, area of residence, and diet, you may drink less or more.

Processed Foods And Sugar Intake Reduction

The primary cause of most of the current health crisis emanates from processed foods and sugar. When you consume large amounts of highly processed foods and sugar, you can get diagnosed with diabetes, cancer, heart diseases, and obesity. These diseases will hinder your body from its ability to detoxify. Additionally, they will harm the organs that are vital and help in the detoxification process, such as the kidneys and the liver.

When you consume large amounts of sugary beverages, you can get a fatty liver. This condition negatively affects the functions of your liver. Make sure that you consume less or avoid junk foods to maintain the level of the healthiness of the detoxification system in the body. Instead, replace junk food with natural and healthy foods such as fresh vegetables and fruits. You can also follow Dr. Gundry Lectin Shield on how to avoid unhealthy foods.

Consume Antioxidants

Ensure that you mainly consume foods that are rich in antioxidants. The antioxidants include zeaxanthin, lutein, lycopene, selenium, vitamins E, C, and A. They will protect your cells from free radicals that damage them. When you lack antioxidants, your cells are unprotected, and you can get oxidative stress since the free radicals will get produced excessively. Naturally, the body produces the radicals to aid in digestion.

However, exposure to pollutants, poor diet, tobacco smoke, and alcohol can aid in the production of the excess radicals. You can get diagnosed with liver diseases, dementia, asthma, certain types of cancer, and heart diseases when the cells get damaged.

Minimize Your Salt Intake

When you consume too much salt, your body will retain excess fluid, and you may bloat. Therefore, it will be harder fitting into your clothes. Increase your water intake and reduce salt intake to avoid this.

Practice these tips to detoxify your body and increase your overall energy.
