Your stomach does influence your drive and thought. When it's empty, the mind focuses less and energy levels drag. The morning hours can be rough for meal planning, especially if you're not a morning person yourself. A cup of coffee, however, isn't enough to create that get-up-and-go momentum that propels you through a successful day.

A nutrient-rich breakfast can. By focusing on a few simple ingredients, you may make the first meal of the day simpler and set yourself up for a rewarding time.

  1. Oatmeal

Now, you may wonder how is oatmeal good for you? That little bowl of mush seems so plain and straightforward. Oats are a high-fiber meal with numerous health benefits. These tiny flakes contain the protein beta-glucan, which works to flush out cholesterol from the body.

They also are packed full of vitamins B1 and B5 as well as magnesium and iron. Vitamin B works with energy supply, keeping you focused and going strong. Lack of certain minerals plays with mentality and mood. Low levels of iron are also connected with lethargy as well while magnesium offsets anxiety by encouraging calm.

There are several ways to spruce by this ingredient without much hassle. Work on overnight jars. Fill with oats and milk or yogurt. Top with fruit and honey. Then, before you race out the door, grab one container. Eat it at the office or in a few minutes before you head out.

  1. Eggs

Eggs get a bad wrap because of their cholesterol level; however, current research shows that they are among the best foods to fill the stomach and offer healthy starts. Full of protein, they fill the body, offering iron and choline. One egg can offer seven grams of protein that fuels the body and fills it up so that you can wait for lunch a bit longer.

One of choline's exciting points is that studies indicate a correlation between the mineral and memory and brain development. An omelet then may help you out on the job or at least let you’ll remember where your shoes are.

A very versatile product, enjoy it scrambled, over easy. Pair it with fruit or, if you want to beef up your fiber, a side of veggies. You can even bake an egg casserole filled with your favorite greens.

  1. Chia Seeds

These little guys have 11 grams of protein, fight hunger and battle sugar cravings. Mix it with a milk product, and let it sit in a dish overnight.

  1. Greek Yogurt

High in protein and low in sugar, Greek yogurt works in the body to fight off cravings and satisfy desires. The food is creamier than traditional yogurts because it is drained from whey and curds. This thicker substance also has a less sweet taste, but its thickness works better and avoids midday hunger cravings.

Because it contains a high thermic effect, your metabolism may function better. Plus, the dairy triggers the hormone production of PYY and GLP-1. Why is this useful? This hormone works directly with your hunger response. The more you have of it, the less likely you will become hangry during a meeting or call.

Since it is a bit tart, think of it as a base. Then, top it with healthy selections. Fresh fruit such as berries and a drizzle of honey offers a refreshing start. Wash and cut the fruit early on, and portion out the yogurt. It becomes a grab-and-go meal.

  1. Protein Shakes

Drinking your breakfast is possible, especially if you are short on time or want to make shopping easier. Whey protein shakes are filled with vitamins. Starting with one means you are starting on the right path for the day, filling your mind and stomach with something nutritious; plus, it is easily absorbed and may lower blood sugar.

  1. Nuts

Alone these may not be enough but adding a few to your yogurt or oatmeal only enhances the vitamin and mineral powder. Nuts offer you a dose of potassium, magnesium, protein and, at times, selenium.

Start your daily engine off right. These menu selections give you the fuel to stay focused and running.
