Fighting Fat With Food Fuel

Repeating this tongue twister over and over probably wont burn much fat, but it might be fun. What will burn fat, though, is using some of the foods you love to burn all the fat you hate.

Its time to let the thermogenic genie out of the bottle. Thermogenics refers to the production of heat. Eating the right foods will produce the heat you need to burn the fat you want to lose.

Protein-rich foods like lean meats are among the most thermogenically-efficient foods you can eat. Why? Because you burn more than a quarter of their calories while digesting them. Cool right? And hot!

Speaking of hot stuff, nothing heats up those fat cells and burns calories like hot peppers. The capsaicin in tabasco, cayenne, and raw or dried peppers will transform your metabolism into a little fat-burning furnace.

The process of processing processed foods - there;s another tongue twister for you. Ironically, you'll burn more calories saying this than your body will. Processing or metabolizing processed foods doesn't give your system the workout it needs to burn calories.

Olive oil can keep both your cholesterol and your cravings in check. Berries - strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, and blueberries - are fiber filled and great for burning belly fat. Ditto for avocadoes. They're an amazing source of heart-healthy monounsaturated fats.

Metabolic boosters like calcium and vitamin D also improve your body's fuel-burning capacity. Examples: low fat cheese, yogurt, and other low fat, organic dairy products.

Green means lean. Green tea and green veggies can fine tune your system so that you burn calories more efficiently, and provide vital nutrients to make you stronger, healthier, and more energetic.

Fill your fridge and your pantry like you fill your car - with high-octane fuel that will get you into the shape and level of optimal health that'll really take you places.
