What is your dental background and experience?
COULTER: I received my DDS degree from UCLA in 1991 and have been practicing cosmetic and general dentistry for 23 years.
What procedures and dental technology/treatment methods do you specialize in and why do you use them?
My expertise is safely removing mercury fillings and replacing them with crowns, inlays and veneers using Emax and Zirconia, esthetic and biocompatible-restorative materials.
What trends do you see in your field?
Continued unsafe mercury removal techniques and toxic dental offices.
What problems do you see the most and what do you try to teach your patients about dental hygiene?
The most common problem I see is new patients not flossing daily. Since flossing is so beneficial, I suggest to patients that they floss in the shower to keep a daily routine. I also recommend an angled brush handle with medium bristles and a large adult head that should be replaced monthly. Yes, that is 12 toothbrushes a year!
What are the main concerns your patients ask about?
The main concerns I get from patients is cost of treatment and then of course, how it will look and how long it will last.
What is your dental philosophy and what do you try to accomplish with your work?
My dental philosophy is 'High Quality, Comprehensive Dental Care with Exceptional Customer Service' in a state-of-the-art office.
What has been the highlight of your career?
Keeping my patients healthy has been the highlight of my career as well as utilizing the latest cosmetic techniques to create beautiful teeth and healthy smiles.
