Naturally Curb Wisdom Tooth Pain

Trusted Health Products
We tend to start feeling wisdom teeth poking through between the ages of 16 and 24. The wisdom teeth coming in can often be accompanied by pressure, pain and some numbness of the gums. It can prevent you from eating what you want, and even cause soreness to your jaw, depending on the level of the pain.

Sometimes the pain that is felt is caused by impaction, or when the tooth has a hard time emerging from the gum. Unfortunately, there is no way to stop wisdom teeth from growing, but you can certainly try these tactics to alleviate some of the pain.

Clove

This plant is a very ancient remedy that can be used for a number of ailments. If you happen to have full, fresh clove leaves at your disposal, you can use those. Treating the painful wisdom tooth with the clove leaf is simple. Place the leaf directly over the painful tooth.

Leave it there until the pain lessens considerably. Do not chew it. Clove oil is also an option; just a few drops on the fingertips can be easily massaged into the gum and the tooth.

Guava

This fruit is not as widely known or used as it should be, as it does have amazing health benefits. Even the leaves that are attached to the fruit prove to be very powerful and healing when used correctly. Boil the guava leaves in water until they soften. Then place them on the affected gum and chew gently for 30 seconds. Do not swallow the leaves.

Olive Oil

The benefits and uses of olive oil are well documented. So it's no wonder that the oil can be used to lessen the pain that is often felt when wisdom teeth start coming in. What many don't know is that olive oil can be used as a pain reliever for many aches and pains.

Heat a bit of olive oil and allow it to cool to a lukewarm temperature. Then pour a small bit of the oil in the ear on the side of the wisdom tooth. This will effectively help alleviate any type of pain on that side of the throat, neck and jaw.

Mouthwash

This is one of the easiest and most simple remedies around. Most people have some mouthwash in their cabinets at their disposal. Just rinsing a couple of times a day with mouthwash should help to mitigate the pain that wisdom teeth often cause. Use a peppermint-flavored mouthwash, as the components in the peppermint will offer almost instant relief from the pain.

Lavender

This is another amazing essential oil that can be used for a plethora of different things. It not only has an extremely calming scent, but it also contains various healing properties. The oil has disinfectant and antibacterial properties that will keep any harmful germs away from the tooth.

It will also act as a soothing agent to lessen the pain felt by the tooth moving. Dab a couple of drops on the affected gum and rub gently.
