Trusted Health Products

If you've been keeping up with skin care information and advancements at all, you know that plant oils are amazing for the skin. This is great news for so many who hate spending ridiculous amounts of money on skin care products that never really deliver the way they promise. There are so many difference skin issues that can be rectified with the right oil. And there are so many people that are exchanging their expensive and heavy creams for natural botanical oils because of how effective they truly are.

Knowing your skin type and what your skin is naturally susceptible to is one of the first steps in adequately figuring out which oils would be best for your face. Are you trying to combat wrinkles, hyper-pigmentation, acne or dull, lifeless skin? Whatever you are after, there is an oil that will help you achieve your skin goal. What makes a particular oil effective is its natural fatty acid composition. This means that not all oils are created equal and they won't all give you the same results. Keep this in mind when going on your oil hunt. Here's what you should always ponder when searching for skin oil.

Oily And Acne-Prone Skin

If you struggle with pimples and greasy skin, you'll need oils that are high in an omega-6 fatty acid called linoleic acid. This type of oil is great for skin that already has oil issues because it can be easily and rapidly absorbed by the skin without leaving a filmy, oily residue behind. These types of oils will properly nourish the skin, provide it enough moisture and also help to unclog pores and eliminate the excess production of sebum. Oils like grapeseed, safflower and evening primrose are great for this type of skin.

Dry Skin

In the event that you struggle with dry skin, you'll need to select oils that are deeply and intrinsically moisturizing and hydrating. Oils that are high in oleic acid are the best for this purpose. These oils are usually incredibly high in antioxidants so they have many nutritious and rich properties within them. These types of oils are also great for older skin and have specific properties within them that allow them to correct and help aid skin that is suffering from any type of skin damage. Some excellent choices are avocado, olive and apricot kernel oil.

Sensitive Or Inflamed Skin

If you suffer with troublesome skin that always seems to be reacting to something, then you need very specific types of oils. Gamma linoleic acid, or GLA, has appeared readily in certain studies regarding sensitive skin or skin prone to inflammation. This is because it prevents water loss which helps to minimize inflammation. If you are at all prone to any skin conditions like dermatitis, psoriasis, eczema, or rosacea, you will find that oils high in GLA will help minimize the itchy, red irritation that the skin often suffers from. Oils that contain high levels of GLA are evening primrose, blackcurrant and borage.
