Not only is oral thrush really gross to look at, suffering from it is even worse. It's considered candida of the mouth and can be downright painful. While many would assume that they should go get an antibiotic meant for this type of candida, many strains are actually resistant to those types of drugs, making it especially difficult to treat. Thankfully there are safe and natural ways that oral thrush can be treated. The overgrowth of candida can cause a white tongue, bad breath and an overall weakened immune system. Here are some of the ways it can be controlled and eliminated.
This is a treatment and preventative measure that you should consider including in your daily regimen. Many studies have shown that cinnamon, when taken as a supplement, helps to lessen and even eliminate the overgrowth of candida. It has intrinsic anticandidal compounds that help to treat the onset of oral thrush. You can take this spice in capsule form or you can incorporate it into the foods that you eat. Try sprinkling it in your oatmeal or onto apple slices.
Oil Of Oregano
This strong oil has a myriad of properties that make it great for getting rid of oral thrush and strengthening the immune system. It is anti-fungal, antiviral and antibacterial. Try adding a few drops of the oil to warm water and using it as a gargle twice a day. Leave it in your mouth for at least two full minutes, which gives it adequate time to make contact with all the parts of your mouth that are affected by candida. You can use this method for up to 10 days at a time. You'll likely start to see a difference in the thrush appearance after a couple of days.
Its main function is to assist your body in cleaning out your liver. Due to its detoxification components, it's a great supplement to take if you are trying to get rid of a candida overgrowth. It helps to rid the body of toxins and pollutants. Heavy metals also don't stand a chance against milk thistle. It helps to completely reset your system and drain it of the remnants of toxins likely feeding the yeast in the first place. Take one to two a day with a meal.
Known to kill both fungi and parasites, myrrh oil is one of the strongest and mightiest oils in existence. A study completed in 2012 found that the presence of myrrh oil combined with sodium fluoride exhibited activity that was anti fungal, thus making it effective for issues like oral thrush. You can add a couple of drops of the oil to your salt water gargle and use it at least twice a day. This option will also stimulate your immune system's response to such attacks related to fungus and bacteria.
