Trusted Health Products

Witch hazel extract is created from the bark and leaves of the plant through extraction and distillation. As an essential oil or an extract this product is used in many skincare and healthcare products.

It is often used for small injuries to help sooth and heal, as well as an astringent in many cosmetic and skincare products to help close pores and keep them clear and blemish free, helping to decrease inflammation and swelling, allowing it to address several skincare concerns at the same time.

Acne-fighting properties of witch hazel

When pores become clogged with dirt or oils acne occurs. The use of witch hazel extract assists the pores in remaining closed and deterring build-up in the pores themselves. By remaining closed, oil and dirt is unable to build up within the pores and they will stay clean and clear, halting the formation of acne.

The antiseptic properties of witch hazel leaf extract will reduce build-up and kill the bacteria, and return the skin to clear and clean.

Anti-inflammatory properties of witch hazel

As an anti-inflammatory this extract treats all skin concerns that involve swelling and puffiness including acne and puffiness around the eyes including the bags that form beneath them. It also reduces bug bites and the itch they bring, along with easing the swelling that occurs with sunburn.

Through decreasing the swelling of the affected areas the blood and nutrients are able to help speed the healing of the skin, and the itch and pain are relieved to a degree so comfort can return.

Anti-fungal properties of witch hazel extract

This extract also has an anti-fungal property that assists in healing dry skin and reducing flaking. This is beneficial in fighting both dandruff and other concerns. It will heal the skin and deter any build-up of fungal concerns, which may occur most often in the form of dandruff, but also in flaking of skin in other places, including fungal build-up on the feet common among athletes.

Athletes may also use this extract in a deodorant, as the antimicrobial properties will prevent bacteria that creates body odor from growing and can be used on even the most sensitive of skin.

When choosing a skincare product, it is important to find one that will address all concerns and create clear and healthy skin. By choosing products that contain witch hazel leaf extract it is possible to address acne, swelling, puffiness and redness, minor cuts and burns, as well as bug bites all in one ingredient, while reducing the number of products that must be used at once, saving both time and money.
