Helichrysum Essential Oil Benefits

Trusted Health Products

Derived from the medicinal plant called helichrysum italicum, which is full of antioxidant properties, this essential oil is not very well known but that doesn't take away from its power and abilities. Various studies have found that certain properties within the oil can be very helpful for many different issues.

It has several mechanisms that allow it to lower instances of inflammation, which can be detrimental in many ways. A member of the Asteraceae plant family, it can be found traditionally in the Mediterranean. But in recent years it has been used all over the world in Portugal, Turkey, Spain, and Italy. Here are some of the impressive ways that this oil can be used.

It can sometimes be tedious to figure out exactly what you should be using on your skin rashes, wounds or irritations. Some oils are a bit too strong and some may be a bit uncomfortable as they are being applied. The great thing about this oil is that it has properties that will help to protect your wound or irritation from getting worse, potentially growing a fungus, or letting germs fester near it.

Mix a couple drops of this oil with a carrier oil like jojoba or coconut oil and apply it to any skin that is affected or wounded. You'll notice that it starts to soothe skin very quickly.

Acne Treatment

This oil is one of the best for treatment of acne and acne scars. Blemishes can be so difficult to deal with and they often cause self consciousness among their sufferers. Helichrysum oil has been shown in many medical studies to be an adequate way to combat those pesky zits.

What's great about this oil is that it properly treats your breakouts without leaving your skin overly dry or irritated, which can sometimes be the case with other products. Due to its lack of harmful chemicals, your skin will likely react positively to this oil as long as you don't have any preexisting allergies to this type of plant.

Digestive Aid

If you are feeling full and bloated on a regular basis, it's probably time to reevaluate your diet. It may also be time to get some oils that will help aid your digestion when it doesn't want to work properly. Helichrysum is a fantastic oil to rub into your lower abdomen when you are suffering from bloating or any type of tummy troubles.

There is no need for you to suffer through the discomfort of bloating and irritability when you can rub some of this oil on your stomach. Get your digestion flowing exactly the way that it should.

Natural Sunblock

The health of your skin should be of the utmost importance; to many it definitely is, but sometimes the generic sunscreens that are on the market have way more harmful ingredients in them than the ones that protect you from the sun's powerful rays. This oil actually makes a barrier over the skin that the sun cannot penetrate for several hours. So if you're looking for a natural sunblock, this is definitely it.
