Many skincare products are made from animal byproducts or tested on animals. Some of them involve invasive chemicals that can strip away your skin’s natural oils. When it comes to skin care, many people struggle to find natural, eco-friendly products. Your skin is technically the largest organ of your body. It can also showcase ailments or internal issues that are happening. The overall health of your body impacts your skin. While some skin issues like acne or rosacea can be genetic, there are times when these issues are a result of hormonal breakouts or other treatable issues. Fortunately, there are many ways to naturally supplement your skin care routine. If you’re looking to fine-tune your skincare routine, try the natural route with these five methods.

Incorporate steam treatments

The first way to improve your natural skincare routine is by incorporating steam treatments. Especially if you have oily skin, it’s pretty easy and common to get with clogged pores. Instead of dealing with tons of whiteheads and blackheads, develop a regimen that allows you to gently get rid of clogged pores. This means you’ll want to use the power of steam. Steam provides a natural and easy way to incorporate steam treatments. Whether you purchase a steamer or stand over a pot of hot water, get into the habit of using steam to make it easier to push out the oil, dirt and sebum that’s underneath the skin’s surface. Be gentle. You don’t want to make matters worse with scarring.

One easy method is to fill a basin, sink, or pot with boiling water, cover your head with a towel and simply bend over the container, letting the steam unclog your pores. Make sure that you have something lining the basin so you don’t burn yourself.

Try natural exfoliating methods

Another easy way to improve your skincare routine is through natural exfoliating methods. If you’re dealing with the skin on your body, it’s okay to make your own sugar scrub or salt scrub. However, don’t use scrubs on your facial skin. Scrubs can be too harsh. Instead, try a natural chemical exfoliant. There are lots of recipes to consider. The best ones into citric acid and glycolic acid to get rid of dead skin.

Create homemade masks

Homemade masks made from natural products can do wonders for your routine. Whether you have dry skin, oily skin or rashes, there’s a natural mask that will work well for you. Oatmeal and bentonite clay are both known for their ability to soak up excess oil. Avocado masks are great for anti-aging efforts. If you have dull skin, create a mask with fresh tomatoes for a brightening effect.

Add essential oils

Another natural essence that can change your skin is essential oil made from natural products. Essential oils have therapeutic properties. They’re also very effective in healing different skin issues. Many expensive anti-aging creams credit the power of frankincense essential oil to help with slowing down the aging process. Bergamot pure essential oil is an amazing oil to use in skincare treatments as it can treat skin infections, acne and more. Look into these and other essential oil products to find what works best for your skin needs.

Do lymphatic massages

Finally, a lymphatic massage is a great way to naturally stimulate your face’s healing and anti-acne powers. A lot of people are starting to recognize the benefits of jade rollers. These products are used by rolling them up and down the length of one’s face. Jade rollers are actually a form of lymphatic massaging. As you massage your skin, you’re encouraging the circulation of blood. Lymphatic drainage is also important because it eliminates the toxins underneath the skin. By encouraging circulation and eliminating toxins, your body will be more able to handle its own acne-fighting abilities.

Developing an excellent skincare regimen is no easy feat. It takes trial and error to cultivate a system that works for you. Don’t get discouraged when you run into a lot of errors before you’re successful. When you figure out what your skin wants, it’s only a matter of time before it provides glowing results.
