The Advantages Of Multifaceted Lavender Oil

Trusted Health Products

One of the most versatile essential oils in the world is lavender oil. It's proper, scientific name is lavandula augustifolia. It has amazing qualities and effects on the body, one that is most readily known is that of relaxation. It has incredibly potent therapeutic qualities. Though this is what it is known for, there are so many other ways that this oil can be used. In fact, lavender oil is easily one of the most versatile oils that you can get. Here's some of the ways that it can be used.

Insect Bites

Due to the inherent antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties of this oil, those itchy bug bites that you may deal with from time to time, don't have to be such a nuisance. Just a couple of drops of the oil will not only properly clean the wound, but also impede any type of itching that may be experienced. As a bonus, this oil is also a great insect repellent as bugs detest the smell of lavender. Use it as a bug repellent around the house or if you're going outdoors. Safe for skin and the environment.

Helps Burns

If you have a minor oven, iron or straightener mishap, reach for the lavender oil. Just a few drops of lavender oil applied directly to the burn helps to decrease pain. The often intense stinging and pain that is associated with these types of burns is easily soothed by lavender. It also helps prevent redness and swelling. The components of lavender oil ensure that the liklihood of scaring is much less.

Eczema And Dermatitis

It can be incredibly difficult and taxing to deal with skin conditions. They flare up in times of stress and are apparent as they cause dry patches of raised, itchy skin. Lavender oil is a great aid to this issue. Always mix the lavender with a carrier oil like coconut or jojoba oil and spot treat all of the areas that are inflamed. The cooling properties do wonders to mitigate the distracting aspects of this skin condition.

Insomnia

A good nights rest is essential for productivity. Those who don't sleep properly are prone to a myriad of issues because sleep is inherently restorative. The common stressors of life can easily lead to the inability to sleep well. Thankfully, this oil is a great remedy for that issue. Just a couple of drops of lavender on your pillow, or soaked in a cotton ball if you prefer, will help lull you to sleep.

Dandruff

Those pesky white flakes that can be noticable on scalps and shirts is a real bother. Dandruff often causes discomfort and the need to scratch the scalp, which makes the white flakes produce faster. It's a vicious cycle without a clear end. But with lavender oil, the scalp can be calmed and the inflammation will subside, thus eliminating the flakes. Add several drops into your shampoo. Or part sections of your hair and rub the oil directly onto the scalp.
