5 Ways To Gain Weight While Staying Healthy

Information about losing weight is readily available almost everywhere. However, gaining weight generally receives less attention. Despite this, many people need or want to gain weight. Whether you're underweight, looking to build muscle mass or gaining weight for any other reason, it's important to work on your body in a healthy manner. So, here are five ways to gain weight while staying healthy.

1. Eat Healthy Proteins

Proteins are essential to consume when you're trying to gain weight. These biomolecules are particularly efficient at building muscle mass, which makes many helpful for those trying to increase strength. However, you should remember to stay smart about the proteins you consume.

Eating nothing but meat, especially red meat, can be draining and cause health problems in the future. Look for more organic sources of protein, such as beans, nuts and tofu. You can also try using a protein powder, particularly if you want to eat the substance quickly. 

2. Exercise Regularly

You may think that exercise is only a weight-loss technique, but it can help to ensure that you stay healthy while gaining weight. Doing physical activities at least once a day keeps your body in shape and able to function properly. It also helps you build an appetite, especially if a workout was intense and energy-consuming.

Lastly, similar to protein, exercise can assist you in gaining muscles. This is particularly true if you engage in cardio or toning workouts. No matter how much weight you want to gain, never stop moving. 

3. Make Smoothies

If you're struggling with eating healthy foods or consuming enough in one sitting, try making smoothies. A smoothie can contain a lot in just one cup, particularly if you make it right. Keep in mind that you don't need to make the drink disgusting.

By simply adding a lot of fruits, you can create a beneficial yet delicious meal. Be sure to use a lot of leafy greens. These vegetables are particularly nutritious, and many have flavors that can be overpowered. If you're worried about texture, try adding organic yogurt, tofu or avocados for creaminess. 

4. Plan Each Meal

Similar to people trying to lose weight, you might find success by planning each meal beforehand. While it may seem wise to eat whatever and whenever you want to, doing so is unlikely to make a significant impact. After all, no matter how much weight you want to gain, eating nothing but freezer food and pasta is bound to impact your health.

So, at least plan on what essential nutrients you'll eat throughout the day. For instance, you could have a healthy side salad with each meal. You can also make unhealthy meals more beneficial by adding ingredients. Try putting kale in mac-and-cheese or spinach on a pizza. 

5. Change Your Drinking Times

Oddly enough, the times that you drink may be negatively affecting your process. This specifically refers to your drinking habits surrounding a meal. If you drink a lot before eating, you may lose your appetite. High-calorie refreshments are particularly problematic in this regard.

You could also be affected if you swallow large amounts while eating. Therefore, you may want to try changing when you drink. Try drinking small amounts during a meal and even more afterward. Also, be sure not to chug water when you swallow it. Have controlled sips that won't fill you up too quickly.

Gaining weight isn't easy to do, particularly in a healthy manner. It requires a lot of self-control and discipline. While it may be tempting to eat as much junk food as possible, doing so would result in an unhealthy body. You can splurge once in a while, but don't make it a habit.

If you're not finding any success after a while, try talking to a professional that can help you form a more tailored method. Whatever you do, remember that your body isn't a personal reflection of who you are. Stay happy and healthy throughout this process.
