Presently, chronic pain impacts more people than diabetes, cancer, and heart disease combined, and it is the most common reason individuals seek disability claims in the United States. Living with chronic pain day in and day out can be debilitating. Chronic pain can cause difficulty functioning both physically and mentally, keeping you from doing basic tasks, let alone things that bring you and your loved ones joy.

Many people find that chronic pain hinders their productivity as it causes difficulty with performing household chores and running errands. If the pain is bad enough, it can interfere with activities of daily living and holding a job. If the pain becomes even more severe, you may find yourself bedridden.

Some pain killers sold in drug stores have unwanted side effects and prescription-grade pain killers derived from opioids can be addictive, causing even more issues on top of the pain you are attempting to eliminate. If chronic pain is having a stranglehold on your life, you do not have to lose hope as there are many ways you can manage it that will enable you to reclaim your life in short order.

Here are three natural, non-invasive ways to cope with pain and regain your self-sufficiency and self-efficacy.

Managing Your Pain with Massage Therapy

If you want a way to manage your pain that is natural and free from side effects, then you want to consider massage therapy. Massage therapy is one of the oldest remedies for managing pain. Massage therapy had its origins in India in 3000 BCE, and it was considered to be a sacred method to promote healing used by Hindu practitioners.

In 2700 BCE, massage therapy made its way to China and other parts of Asia where it evolved to include the use of herbal remedies. Centuries later, massage made its way to the rest of the world and is widely used in medicine today.

Massage therapy is used to help manage pain and improve circulation. The health benefits of massage are recognized by doctors and physical therapists, and it is included as part of many regimens for managing pain and improving range of motion.

Many report feeling significant relief after a massage session. If you want to use massage therapy to manage pain, you will need to schedule weekly sessions. You can schedule sessions more often if you find you need more than one massage session a week.

Control Your Pain with Essential Oils

Another all-natural method for pain management is the use of essential oils. Just like massage therapy, using essential oils to manage pain has a long history. Each essential oil has its own healing properties. Some examples are as follows:

  • Peppermint oil helps to alleviate headaches and stomachaches. Peppermint oil is also used to reduce inflammation and muscle spasms.
  • Eucalyptus oil is used to relax muscles and reduce inflammation.
  • Lavender oil promotes relaxation along with easing muscle spasms and reducing inflammation.
  • Chamomile oil enables restful sleep and reduces pain and inflammation.
  • Sandalwood oil alleviates pain, calms muscle spasms, and rids the body of tension.
  • Juniper oil eases pain, reduces tension and promotes relaxation.
  • Arnica oil reduces swelling, soothes the skin and helps bruises to heal.

If you decide to manage your pain using essential oils, you can either use one oil by itself or create custom blends. The oils can be administered in different ways, such as diffusers and vaporizers, so you should do your best to experiment and find out what works best for you.

Control Pain with CBG

Lastly, another option to consider is cbg for pain. Not much is known about CBG, however, it is gaining popularity as it has been discovered to be very promising and effective for pain management. CBG is excellent for eliminating inflammation which is the root cause for much of the pain that we suffer.

CBG works as a muscle relaxer as it is used to control spasms, and it is also a potent analgesic. Some say that it works better than conventional painkillers, which is great news for those that have not had luck with over-the-counter drugs and want to take a more holistic, natural approach to managing their pain.

There are only a few scientific studies on CBG presently, however, all the evidence that is being discovered is highly favorable. CBG is more potent than CBD, and those who use it to manage their pain tout its effectiveness. CBG can be used in combination with CBD to help those who do not benefit from CBD by itself.

Chronic pain does not have to rule your life. You can break free from its grasps and enjoy an optimal quality of life. No more will you have to feel like you are a prisoner inside of your own body because chronic pain will no longer hold you back from doing the things you once loved and enjoyed. You will also be able to be productive since pain will not hold you back from managing your daily affairs or earning a living.
