In the beauty industry, many people reference body oils, otherwise known as massage oils, and talk about their many benefits. However, every massage oil is best for a specific function, so you want to make sure that you are using them properly.

Oils can be used for a variety of things such as untangling your hair, soothing your skin, melting away stress, and much more. It can be used in your hair, on your skin, and more making it very adaptable and easy to work with. However, as stated prior, it is important that you choose the right oil for your needs.

Below are some of the top massage oils and how they function for you:

  • Olive Oil - Moisturizing

One of the most commonly used massage oils is olive oil because of its intense hydrating factors. It can fight dry skin quickly and efficiently while also repairing any damage to the skin.

  • Coconut Oil - Prevents Drying

Coconut oil is used for a variety of purposes, massage oils being one of them because your skin absorbs it quickly. When it is absorbed into the skin, coconut oil acts as a barrier against irritation and dryness thus keeping your skin hydrated for long periods of time.

  • Sweet Almond Oil - Mild And Gentle

If you suffer from sensitive skin, sweet almond oil is known to be very mild and gentle as well as being high in anti-inflammatory properties. On top of this, it will relieve your skin from discomfort through its gentle hydration.

  • Grape Seed Oil - Antimicrobial

Grape seed oil is a very light oil that gives your skin a rich and hydrated feeling. It is best known for its ability to prevent the growth of pathogens through its antimicrobial effects.

  • Sunflower Oil - Enhances Texture

Sunflower oil can go bad quickly, so it is suggested that you buy small quantities, but it is great for providing your skin with beautiful texture through improving the moisture within your skin.

  • Argan Oil - Elasticity

Argan oil is best used warm and can provide your skin with hydration immediately without the greasy feelings. It is best known for its ability to tighten your skin and reduce any signs of aging or wear.

  • Peanut Oil - Hydration

Peanut oil is not used as often due to allergies, but it can be great for hydrating the skin as well as energizing your body with vitamin E. On top of that, it can also remove pain in your muscles and joints.

  • Sesame Oil - Anti-Inflammatory

Sesame oil is a very thick oil so it can be greasy, but it is great if you are looking to relieve joint pain or reduce inflammation. On top of this, it can also reduce damage caused by UV rays and make your skin look more vibrant.

  • Avocado Oil - Vitamins And Nutrients

Avocado oil is pressed from avocados and is a heavy oil that should be combined with lighter oils for the best effect. It is packed full of vitamins and nutrients that all prevent your skin from wrinkling and stretching as well as improves your overall skin elasticity.

  • Shea Butter - Antioxidant Boosting

Shea butter, which comes from the shea tree, can be heavy and greasy on the skin, so it should be used in combination with lighter oils. However, it is a great compound due to its antioxidants and anti-inflammatory effects.

Overall, oils are great for a variety of uses, one of the main ones being for your skin. There are a variety of oils, each one serving a different purpose, so make sure that you choose the one that best fits your needs.
