How To Keep Skin Young

There are many ways to keep the skin looking and feeling younger, some easy to do at home and others requiring a prescription or medical procedure. There are many over-the-counter products that contain all the needed nutrients for healthy skin, and help to maintain skin balance. Hydration, vitamin D, vitamin C, and vitamin E are all imperative for healthy skin, and consistency is a key component.

Prevent Aging by keeping skin young

The easiest way to maintain young and healthy skin is to increase hydration. This can be accomplished by increasing water intake and using moisturizing products that help to keep the moisture in the skin.

A good skincare routine includes eight or more glasses of water each day, and a gentle hydrating cleanser followed by a toner and/or a moisturizing cream. This will create the basis for younger looking skin and help to prevent aging.

Sunscreen to keep skin young

Moisturizers should contain the antioxidants needed to help repair damage to the skin and to prevent further damage from occurring. When going outside it is necessary to protect the skin from damaging pollutants and over-exposure to the sun. A sunscreen that includes a moisturizer is a good choice, as well as wearing a hat and protective clothing.

Healthy Diet to keep skin young

A healthy diet of nutrient-rich foods helps supply all the needed vitamins and minerals for healthy skin. Keeping skin healthy from the inside out by consuming all the needed nutrients is an easy and affordable way to maintain younger looking skin. Foods that are high in antioxidants - berries, wines, and even chocolate – and foods that are high in vitamin D, E, and C - dairy and milk - are all very important for skin health.

Chemical Peel to keep skin young

When everything needed cannot be regularly consumed, a supplement or cream can be used. There are many available over the counter, or a doctor can offer a prescription as needed. Other options include a chemical peel that will remove the outer layer of skin including the damaged cell.

A chemical peel will also encourage new, healthy cells to grow in their place. This should be done by a dermatologist in most cases, and aftercare will be important.

The next option, which is more invasive and will have a longer recovery period, is a face lift or other surgical procedure done at a doctor’s office or hospital. These can help remove the appearance of wrinkles on the face and neck in a one-day appointment, but will include sedation and recovery care.

Maintaining younger looking skin is easier to do than trying to reverse the signs of aging. Increasing water intake, taking a supplement, and using skincare full of antioxidants and vitamins will help skin to maintain a youthful glow and healthy cells, while an exfoliator will help remove damaged cells and encourage new growth.

A chemical peel or day surgery may be an option to reverse some signs of aging in some cases, but they are more invasive and require more after-care.
