Benefits Of Mullein

Mullein was used in ancient times as a way to directly address many different types of ailments. In recent decades, it has picked up steam and started becoming increasingly popular due to its mighty effects. Here are some ways that it can help.

Ear Infections

The herb can be found in tincture form which makes it easier to use in the treatment of ear infections. Because the anesthetic qualities within the herb are known to target and eradicate infections, this is a safe and harmless way to stop those pesky ear aches and discomfort that these infections often cause. If your child is suffering from ear infections on a consistent basis, it's because the ear never fully heals as it should. Just a drop of mullein will penetrate the ear canal and properly make contact with the infection.

Disinfectant

As was the case above with ear infections, other external infections can be treated with mullein oil as well. It is classified as a disinfectant so infections simply cannot flourish where this oil is present. You can treat the infection immediately and deliberately with mullein.

Respiratory Aid

Due to the anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties within this herb, it's great for providing relief in the event of bronchitis or the general cough that often comes with the flu. The tightness and mucus congestion within your chest can be incredibly difficult to manage and struggling to breathe is never fun. A mixture of mullein and a carrier oil can be placed on the chest and once it is properly absorbed, you will see the difference in your lung congestion. Symptoms will start to dissipate in no time at all. It has even been known to have positive effects on asthma sufferers. It is a great option to have in your medicine cabinet when you start to feel under the weather.

A Relaxant

One of the most interesting elements of this oil is its soothing nature. It has been proven to positively affect the nervous system and brain in many different ways. Stress causes more disease and health issues than many people realize. If you are someone who is often stressed or suffers from low-grade anxiety or depression, this is a great aid to have on hand. It is also known to help reduce blood pressure, as well as the chance of heart attack. It positively impacts the nervous system by allowing it to calm down and not further elevate into a frenzy.
