If your smile doesn’t look as good as you’d like it to, you may find that it affects your confidence. Because of this, you might try to hide your teeth and only smile when you have to. Fortunately, there are some cosmetic procedures available that can help you feel confident in your smile again.
Teeth Whitening
Yellow teeth look unattractive, and you can easily make your smile brighter by getting your teeth whitened. While whitening toothpastes can work a little bit, they probably can’t whiten your teeth as much as you’d like them to. However, there are all sorts of teeth whitening procedures that you can try. Your dentist likely offers teeth whitening in their office. They may give you a whitening tray that you can use at home.
Worn Crown Replacement
You may have had a crown placed over one or more of your teeth because of damage or decay. Dental crowns can last for many years, but they will eventually need to be replaced as worn out crowns can have a major impact on your smile and can even cause you pain. A general dentistry professional can replace these crowns for you and give you a smile that you’ll be proud to show off to others.
Veneers
It’s not uncommon for many individuals to get veneers to improve their smile. This is a great option for those that don’t like the shape or natural color of their teeth. Veneers can be custom made to fit your mouth perfectly, and they can last for around 20 years if you take care of them properly. They can give you that flawless smile that you’ve always dreamed of.
Bonding
For those that have chipped or cracked teeth, bonding is a great option. A resin material is placed on the damaged tooth and hardened with an ultraviolet light. The dentist will then shape it if necessary so that it blends in with the other teeth. The whole process can be completed in about an hour. Bonding usually lasts about a decade.
While some of these procedures may sound complex, you can often get them done at your usual general dentistry office. Dentists can take care of a wide range of procedures from regular checkups to cosmetic procedures. If your dentist doesn’t offer the procedure you want, though, they will likely have a recommendation for nearby offices that offer it.
Don’t hide your smile because you don’t like the way that it looks. There are numerous cosmetic procedures that you can have done in as little as one dental visit. With the right procedure, you can get your confidence back and start to smile proudly again.
