Worried about showing your age? Through the natural process of aging, everyone will develop wrinkles at some point. The more exposure you have to the sun, particularly without protection, the more aged you’ll appear.
Wrinkles generally begin forming in the 40s and 50s, though they can come on sooner than that if you don’t take good care of your internal health and your skin. Smoking, unprotected sun exposure, and a poor diet are all big factors that contribute to a more aged appearance.
Aside from choosing a smarter lifestyle and buying retinol-infused skincare products, you can also try a few wrinkle remedies at home to smooth out your skin. With these, perhaps the cashier at the supermarket will card you the next time you buy wine!
Aloe vera inside and out
Aloe vera supplements are said to reduce wrinkles when taken internally. And on the topical side, aloe vera has long been known as a soothing agent. It also adds hydration and encourages collagen production which is what keeps skin looking young.
Make a banana mask
Put those spotty bananas to good use! When everyone in your home lets the bananas turn brown, take some and make banana bread and steal a quarter of one to mash up for a mask. Apply it and wait 20 minutes, ideal for while you’re making that banana bread, and then rinse it away.
Use egg whites
Creams made with egg whites have the power to reduce wrinkle depth and increase collagen production. This makes skin look bouncy and fresh. You’ll love what egg whites can do for your skin, though if you’re allergic to eggs, don’t try this at home!
Eat more probiotic yogurt
Probiotics are great for keeping our gut bacteria flourishing. They also serve to keep our skin healthy and young. Yogurt is the best way to get these beneficial bacteria into our system. You can also use it on your skin too, though choose the plain variety!
Apply vitamin C
Many of the latest skin serums and treatments out there use forms of vitamin C to help boost your skin from the visible signs of aging. It doesn’t just correct wrinkles. It brightens up skin and leaves it looking luminous. Look for well-known brands that use ascorbic acid in the formula, and choose the serum for the most effective remedies.
Change the way you sleep
And finally, if you want to keep wrinkles away, get more sleep. This is the time when your body repairs itself, including skin cells. Try sleeping on your back, and to prevent any problems, use a silk pillowcase so that skin glides off it when it comes into contact with the pillow.
With these easy home remedies, you’ll keep a smoother appearance for even longer. Give them a try!
