Skincare Tips To Get You Through The Pandemic

The pandemic has been difficult in a lot of ways. Not only has it been hard on the economy, but it’s been hard on skin too. While a mask is great for keeping you safe, it isn't necessarily great for keeping your skin clear. The good news is, though, that there can be many ways to improve the health of your skin and keep it glowing, even if it is covered with a mask.

Cleanse Gently and Moisturize

One of the simplest ways to keep your skin looking its best during the pandemic is to make sure that you are cleansing and moisturizing it regularly. While this may seem basic, the reality is that regular, gentle cleansing can do a lot to remove the harmful germs and bacteria that lead to mask-related acne.

Also, it is key to make sure you use gentle cleansers, and that you don't scrub your skin too hard when you wash it, as this can lead it to become dry. When your skin is dry, it will then produce more oils, which will lead to more acne.

Don't Forget About Your Lips

Although many may forget, your lips are part of your skin, and need to be taken care of as well. While your lips may not be able to develop acne, they can still become dry and chapped, due to the fact that they are being kept under a mask. To avoid this kind of uncomfortableness, it can be a good idea to start using things like Vanilla Mint to keep your lips moisturized and soft.

Drink Plenty of Water

Another big part of having healthy skin is drinking plenty of water. Some may think that the key to healthy skin is what you do to the outside of it, but in reality having healthy skin is more about what you put in your body, instead.

This is because your skin cells naturally clean and regenerate themselves, and the more water you drink the easier it is for them to do this. If you aren't sure how much water you need to drink in a day, it can be helpful to divide your body weight in half, and then drink that many ounces of water.

Eat a Healthy Diet

Along with drinking plenty of water, eating a healthy diet is also important when it comes to keeping your skin glowing. Your skin needs a wide variety of nutrients and minerals to regenerate and perform its normal functions, as well as to cleanse itself and heal scars. In particular, vitamins E, C and A are essential for good skin health.

To make sure that you are getting all the nutrients that your skin needs, introducing more leafy greens, as well as a variety of fruits and vegetables can be highly beneficial.

Get Some Shut Eye

Even though it may seem surprising, your sleep can have a huge impact on your skin. This is because while you are sleeping, your body undergoes many healing and reparative processes, including repairing and healing your skin. If you don't get enough sleep or aren't able to sleep deeply enough, your body may not be able to heal your skin like it should.

While it may not always be possible to get the full recommended eight hours of sleep, the good news is that simply improving your sleep time or quality can make a positive difference. Some good ways to get better sleep include cutting down on caffeine, limiting screen time before bed, and starting a calming nighttime ritual like reading or meditation exercises.

Some Last Thoughts

While your skin may have taken a hit due to the pandemic, the good news is that there are things you can do to improve your skin health. From gentle cleansing to getting better sleep, there are many straightforward ways to start improving your skin today.
