How To Remove Age Spots On Hands

Trusted Health Products

Tan or dark spots found on hands are often called liver or age spots. They can often be found on arms, shoulders and other areas of the body that are exposed to the sun on a regular basis. Usually they are most commonly experienced by adults older than 40 years of age. These spots are usually the result of extreme exposure to the sun. Though these spots are incredibly harmless, many don't like the way that they look and want to know how to get rid of them or cause them to fade. Here are a few natural remedies to treat age spots.

Aloe Vera

Aloe vera contains elements that naturally get rid of and remove dead skin cells and promote the healthy production and new skin cell growth. The best form of aloe vera is from a real, thriving plant. But in the event that one isn't available, using a natural, organic option is the next best thing. Do try to purchase an aloe vera product that doesn't have any extra additives. Treat the age spots twice a day.

Lemon Juice

Lemons have very distinct healing properties for the skin. Most notably is its abilities to lighten the skin and provide help to those who deal with discoloration. The mild citric acid is effective enough to lighten the darkened skin but safe enough to remove the dead skin cells that help cause the age spots to begin with. The lemon juice will also help the proper and accelerated production of healthy, new skin cells of even skin tone. The darker layers of skin are easily removed by the lemon juice.

Buttermilk

In the same way that the lemon juice helps to rid the dark spots of their pigmentation, the lactic acid in the buttermilk works similarly. Apply just a small bit of buttermilk on the age spot and let it stay there for about 30 minutes. You can do this twice a day. For an even better result, mix a bit of tomato juice into the buttermilk. Tomato has natural bleaching properties so it helps add an additional element for maximum effect.

Apple Cider Vinegar

ACV is a great natural aid for many different issues, both internally and externally. The naturally acidic aspects of the vinegar easily rids the darkness of the age spot just by applying a little bit of the tonic to the specific area. It's important to note that watering down the apple cider vinegar is the most beneficial way to use the product. You'll start to see results in about six weeks.

Castor Oil

This oil has many healing properties for the skin. There have been studies that show castor oil is great for the treatment of age spots. Do this three times a day for about a month before you'll start seeing fading of the spots themselves. If you tend to have dry skin, add a bit of coconut oil for increased moisture. Almond oil is also a great carrier oil that is incredibly hydrating.
