Do you have acne, dark spots, or wrinkles? Does your skin need a boost of brightness? If so, you might want to consider adding products with mandelic acid to your skincare regimen.

Mandelic acid is an AHA (alpha hydroxy acid) that comes from bitter almonds. Most studies with it involve how well it works for acne, however, it is beneficial for other skin concerns too. Mandelic acid is often compared with another AHA known as glycolic acid, which is derived from sugar cane.

As glycolic acid has the smallest molecular weight of any of the AHAs out there, it tends to be more irritating. This is why mandelic acid is highly sought after, especially for those with sensitive skin that want the kind of results that AHAs bring.

How Mandelic Acid Helps Skin

If your skin is easily irritated, you might find more comfort and results for your skin concerns if you use mandelic acid. It has many benefits for your skin.

- It’s gentle

Some people that have highly-tolerant skin also prefer mandelic acid. It’s so gentle, especially when stacked up against the other AHAs. It penetrates your skin at a much slower rate, making it much easier to tolerate without incident.

- Speeds up cell turnover

If your skin looks dull or aged, you need to help it along with its natural processes. Having proper skin cell turnover means your dead skin cells are removed and new ones replace it at a normal rate.

Mandelic acid is great for exfoliating away these dead skin cells, getting them out of the way while encouraging the skin to reveal new cells. You may have noticed mandelic acid in your chemical peel and this is the reason why. It is very effective at accelerating skin cell turnover.

- Better collagen production

Another thing that will keep you looking young is collagen production in your skin. As we age, this process slows down.

Mandelic acid helps encourage that collagen production. This protein in your skin and connective tissues definitely needs a little help the older you get. After a few weeks, you should notice an improvement in the way your skin looks overall.

Tackle Your Skin Concerns with Mandelic Acid

Mandelic acid is great for taming acne. Because it is gentler on skin and sloughs off those dead skin cells, it can really be beneficial for getting that clearer skin you’ve been dreaming of.

It also improves skin texture, leaving it firmer and smoother. Tone is another skin concern, especially with hyperpigmentation.

If you have dark spots, it can be a beneficial ingredient for you. And since it stimulates collagen production, it can really help aging skin look more youthful and refreshed.

If you want a kinder, gentler way to better skin, try mandelic acid for blemish-prone and aging skin!
