6 Ways To Finally Get Relief From Anxiety

If you experience anxiety, you know it can be completely debilitating. Not only are feelings of anxiousness uncomfortable, but they can bring on rapid heartbeat, chest pain and increase blood pressure, all of which are hazardous to your health.

Anxiety is tough for the person experiencing it and many times it isn't relieved by just counting to 10 or taking a deep breath. If you're having trouble controlling your anxiety, here are six ways to finally get the relief you deserve.

1. Rethink Your Beverages

One of the easiest things you can do to nix the symptoms of anxiety is to rethink the beverages you may be consuming. If you're a fan of heavily caffeinated drinks like coffee and tea, be aware that they can heighten feelings of anxiety.

Worse yet, if you consume energy drinks, know that they can accelerate heart rate and increase feelings of agitation. To keep your nerves calm, reach for non-caffeinated beverages, a fruit smoothie or just plain water.

2. Try CBD Products

Another solution for anxiety that's gaining popularity is the use of CBD products. The oil of natural CBD flower contains an ingredient called cannabidiol which has been reported to relieve stress without any feelings of a "high" like you'd get with cannabis.

Within your body, you have many receptors that react to different types of stimuli, including those in CBD products. Receptors that react to CBD may affect levels of serotonin, a neurotransmitter that's related to anxiety, and give you relief.

3, Journal or Meditate

How can you release pent-up anxiety when you're alone and don't have anyone to talk to? One of the best solutions is journaling. Journaling is a wonderful outlet to get all those feelings outside of you and onto paper. Anxiety happens when you have a lot going on and your thoughts get jumbled up.

Journaling is a good way to organize your feelings and your notes may be helpful to look back on in the future. Meditation also works wonders to soothe the soul from anxiety. When practiced daily, meditation slows down racing thoughts and keeps you in the present moment.

4. Use Essential Oils For Aromatherapy

Did you know that getting relief from anxiety is as easy as stopping to smell the flowers? Aromatherapy is the use of scented essential oils to soothe certain health problems or to promote sleep. Some of these essential oils such as lavender, orange or bergamot combat stress and anxiety.

You can use oils in a diffuser by just adding a few drops to water, or by spritzing them around the house. Some oils may be used directly on the skin but be sure to read the label.

5. Get Out Into Nature

When's the last time you took a long walk or went for a hike through the woods? Just spending some time out in nature will help you find relief from anxiety. Anxiety is made up of a lot of emotions including stress, nervousness and panic.

These are all symptoms that can be reduced just by passing time in a green space. Taking a walk near trees, flowers and singing birds improves your emotional state, plus it's great exercise which also helps fight anxiety.

6. Communicate Better

Have you ever noticed how comfortable you feel being yourself with a good friend? Unfortunately, this usually isn't the case at work or in some personal relationships where you can't relax. Stressful feelings arise when there's a lack of communication - and on a regular basis, it's a recipe for disaster.

At work, ask plenty of questions and don't let problems fester. In personal relationships, go to your partner if you're concerned about something. Talking things out will greatly reduce the amount of anxiety you're experiencing.
