A clay mask is not exactly a cure-all for your skin, but it is pretty close. Clay has been a natural choice for skin care for centuries as it is easily available in many places and can help with everything from dry skin to oily skin, shine to matte, and it helps to remove all the dirt and build-up from the day.
Remove Dead Skin
Our faces gather so much on them during the day. We are subjected to air pollutants, sweat, makeup, weather, and things like air conditioning and heating. All of these things can damage our skin, and as our skin repairs itself dead skin cells gather on the surface. In order to have healthy skin we must remove all of these from contact with our skin and supply what our skin needs to be healthy.
Clean Pores
Clay is a great choice for cleaning the dirt out of your pores and it can pull out the deep-down dirt. It attracts dirt and pollutants to it naturally, and by removing these irritants it can slow the skin’s production of oils for people with oily skin, as well as allow dry skin access to the moisture it needs. There’s also the balance brought to combination skin, allowing the oily spots as well as the dry areas to get the attention they need.
Antibacterial Properties
Clay has even been said to have some antibacterial properties. This makes it likely to help with skin irritations and even minor skin infections and bacteria that cause breakouts and irritations. The natural minerals and materials that make up clay create a great product to use for healthy skin, both by attracting and removing unwanted materials from the skin but also by replenishing needed minerals and nutrients that skin may be missing. Feeding your skin everything that it needs brings balance and purification, as well as creating a healthy feeling and appearance.
Exfoliate Skin
Exfoliating the skin helps to remove impurities and slough off dead skin cells, allowing the healthy skin to get all the nutrients and air it needs. One fast and comfortable way to exfoliate the skin is with a clay mask. They are rough enough with minerals and materials that they will exfoliate the skin but gentle enough not to cause irritation as some harsher methods do. They are also safe to use at home and safe for a wide range of skin types, making them more accessible than some harsher or more chemical-based methods.
Feed Nutrients
No matter what type of skin you have, it requires the same care as general health. Skin needs to be fed nutrients and moisture while having pollutants and irritants removed. Clay masks offer a great way to care for the health of your skin in a safe and affordable way.
