Well beautiful people, it’s time to start dating again! It’s been a long couple years learning how to meet people and make romantic connections, but it’s time to get back out there and schedule a holiday date!

Daters are more intentional now, especially since it’s been so long since we went out - for most of us!. We know it might have been a while since the last time you spruced up to go out, so let’s explore a few tips and tricks that will help you look your best for your upcoming holiday dates!

1.     Try to stay hydrated during the holidays

Did you know that 75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated?  Even if water is your jam, the holidays often mean more parties and gatherings, and that often means travel and alcohol.

It’s important to stay hydrated at all your holiday events, and on the plane on the way there, to stay energetic, healthy and keep your skin looking vibrant and healthy, and to ensure you have all the energy you need for the busy season.

2.     Keep moving

We all know exercise is important for looking and feeling your best, but it also gives you the mental energy and confidence to sail through any date or dinner with ease. Many people use wireless headphones to give their work out a bit more intensity, without the danger of dangling wires or the boredom of a silent workout.

Try getting up early and doing a quick yoga session, for a more peaceful and healthy start to your day or ask your date if they’d like to meet up for a walk or run! You might find your date has the same fitness goals you do, giving you something in common from the first meeting!

3.     Exfoliate & Moisturize

We tend to cover up during winter months, leading to more dry skin and less chances to get out in the sun. Indoor heat also tends to sap moisture from your skin, making it less vibrant and beautiful. Remember to exfoliate before a date, to put your best face (and skin) forward, and moisturize regularly to keep skin glowing, even in cooler, winter months.

4.     Mani & Pedi

Our hands and feet are often ignored in winter months, hidden under gloves and closed-toe shoes, but a manicure or pedicure is a great way to both feel good, and let everyone see your holiday shine. Try some winter colors, like white or red, for your upcoming date, and impress your potential partner while toasting each other or even - dare we say it? - holding hands!

5.     Eat well!

Eating a healthy salad or a light meal before you meet up with your date will ensure you don’t fall victim to “hangry” conversation, and can focus on your date, instead of when the food is coming! Eating well in the holiday season can be hard, with so many tasty treats around, so limit yourself to a minimal amount of cake, cookies and candy, opting instead for healthy greens.

Many people choose the new year’s time to start a new healthy diet, which can lead to flu-like sibo symptoms. What is sibo?  Sibo is the process of unhealthy toxins dying off when we change our diet, and they usually subside after a few days – so stick with it!

6.     Relax and enjoy your date

The holiday season is stressful enough, so look at your date to unwind and meet a new person. You relaxed is your best look – we promise! All your beauty pre-work did the heavy lifting for you so that you can sit back and enjoy the time with your date without worrying about anything else!

You are desirable, and you need to remind yourself of this from time to time. When you feel good about yourself, it’s hard to imagine being insecure about your outward appearance.

It’s been a long time since more traditional dating has been possible, so treat yourself this holiday season by sprucing up your body (and your peace of mind), by focusing on beautifying and being healthy and at peace. Happy holidays daters, and best of luck this year finding love and loving yourself!
