Leg paralysis is the symptom of a severe nerve or muscular disorder. The effect is an increased difficulty in walking, sitting and simply moving. There are four treatments that are proven to help in reducing paralysis.

Electrical Stimulation

Electrical stimulation is proven to help people who have multiple sclerosis, depression, arthritis and other whole-body disorders. This technique involves the use of low-level electrical pulses to stimulate muscular contractions in paralyzed parts of the body. The method is proven to work for patients who have suffered from strokes or other neurological disorders.

Massaging

Some pain or paralysis is relieved when using various massage techniques. Massaging relaxes damaged nerves and muscles that cause painful contractions. Nerves are closely intertwined with muscles, so both components can be affected by pain or paralysis. Furthermore, massaging is a comfortable technique that is safer than surgery and requires no use of electricity.

Surgery

Surgery is the invasive yet effective method used to remove nerve or muscular paralysis. Several surgical treatments include facial nerve decompression and nerve or muscle transfer procedures. Muscle recession treatment is the detachment and reattachment of muscles while muscle resection is the removal of damaged muscles.

Severe knee pain reduces the ability to move your legs and perform everyday activities like walking or sitting still. A knee replacement is recommended to people who have chronic pain, arthritis and paralysis that originates in the knee.

Physical Therapy

Physical therapy is one of the most commonly prescribed treatments for people with muscular injuries. They often work with people who have been in car accidents and suffer from temporary paralysis. Physical therapists are trained to restore mobility in impaired limbs, relieve pain and prevent any further damage.

Their rehabilitation methods include the use of heat and cold therapy, massaging techniques and fitness exercises. The main purpose is to stimulate damaged nerves and muscles. Physical therapists also work with occupational therapists to help patients carry out their day-to-day activities.

Leg paralysis happens to many people whose feet or legs fall asleep. In case of a serious accident or illness, some people find it impossible or extremely difficult to move the leg at all.

A wide range of treatments include surgery, topical creams, massages or exercises; however, not every solution works for every type of person. And some treatments cost a lot of money without fixing the source of the paralysis. It's recommended that you consult a doctor to decide on the best treatment.
