]]>According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), around 12 million people in the U.S. have a visual impairment. Don’t be part of that statistic.
It’s important to pay attention to eye health now, as it’s the only way to avoid age-related eye problems down the road. By caring for your eyes, you can avoid developing eye problems such as cataracts, glaucoma, and macular degeneration over time.
Eye problems can be prevented if you practice the habits we have outlined below.
Do you continuously stare at the computer screen? Screen time can cause eye strain, so be sure to follow the 20-20-20 rule every time you’re on your computer or smartphone. Every 20 minutes, take a break and look 20 feet away for 20 seconds. Why 20 seconds? That’s the amount of time it takes your eyes to rest.
Sit far away from your screen, too. As a rule of thumb, the screen should be at least 25 inches away. The screen should also be a bit lower than your eye level. This helps prevent eye strain, as you’ll have to tilt your eyes downward every time you stare at the screen.
If your eyes feel dry, the likely cause is your lack of water. The fluid around your eyes needs to be lubricated for it to be able to wash away dirt, dust, and other debris. If you fail to drink water, your eyes won’t be able to combat these foreign bodies, and you will get something in your eye.
Your eyes will also start to feel tired, and if left untreated, you’ll eventually develop vision issues such as double vision.
Your doctor has said it before, but we’ll say it again — drink water. The solution is as straightforward as that. To make sure your eyes are well-lubricated, be sure to drink about eight glasses of water a day.
If you suffer from dry eyes, an infection, or irritation, eye drops can offer you the relief you need. Eye drops work wonders — not only do they get rid of the dirt and dust that has gotten into your eye, but they also work as lubricants.
It’s worth mentioning that while over-the-counter eye drops are safe to use, they cannot treat serious eye conditions. It would be best to consult your doctor to be certain that you’re dealing with your eye problems the ideal way. If you see floaters, suffer from eye secretions, or have sudden vision loss, schedule an appointment with your eye doctor ASAP.
Even if you think you don’t have vision issues, you should still visit your eye doctor every two years. By going for a regular eye check-up, you can catch — and correct — eye conditions such as cataracts, glaucomas, and more before it’s too late.
However, if you suffer from sudden eye pain or if your vision starts to blur, you shouldn’t wait for the two-year mark. Make the time to see your eye doctor ASAP. This could indicate a more serious condition that needs immediate treatment.
Contacts are safe to wear, but they shouldn’t be worn for more than 12 hours a day. Allow your eyes to “breathe" by removing your contact lenses every time you go to bed. If you wear your contacts while you sleep, this can cause dry eyes, redness, and infections. What’s worse is that it can even result in permanent vision loss.
If you wear contacts, care for them properly. Never cleanse your contacts with water - not even bottled water - because this can cause infections. Water can also alter the shape of the contact lenses and this can scratch your corneas.
Don’t forget to eat your greens! Fill your plate with food that’s rich in nutrients such as omega-3, vitamin C, A, and E, and lutein. These foods fight against age-related vision issues such as macular degeneration. When you eat a well-balanced diet, you lower the risk of diabetic retinopathy, the main cause of blindness in American adults.
For good eyesight, fill your plate with these food options:
Did you know that your eye makeup can contain germs? A study by Aston University found that about 90 percent of cosmetic products are contaminated with germs, such as E. coli and Staphylococci. This is precisely why you should throw away your makeup — particularly eye makeup like mascara — every three months.
If you continue to use makeup that harbors germs, you’ll be at risk of eye infections like eyelid dermatitis and keratitis. Your mascara can also enter your eye, causing redness, inflammation, and more.
Do you smoke? Stop now to save yourself from serious eye issues. Smokers are twice as likely to undergo age-related macular degeneration (AMD) than non-smokers.
And that’s not all — smokers are also two to three times more likely to suffer from cataracts. Not only is smoke an irritant, but it can damage the blood vessels and cause vision problems.
Don’t neglect your eyes — after all, you only get one pair for life. By practicing the tips outlined above, you can protect your eyesight and see the world through a crystal-clear lens. With these simple steps, you can ensure that your eyesight stays sharp regardless of your age.

]]>Antioxidants are compounds secreted in the body and can also be found in foods. Their work is to protect your body cells from damages that might result from harmful molecules called free radicals. Suppose you have too many free radicals in the body, they might lead to oxidative stress. When that happens, your DNA and other structures of your cells might get damaged.
Here are three easy ways to integrate antioxidants into your diet.
Oatmeal is one of the best options for those looking to add antioxidants to their diets. This food originates from ground oats that have a unique fiber known as beta-glucan. When you take this fiber, you will get amazing health benefits, such as reduced cholesterol.
Moreover, oat beta-glucan is a type of viscous fiber that will give you the feeling of fullness. A certain study reports that oatmeal can help enhance the fullness hormone in your body that’s also called the PYY.
Oats are also known to have a high level of antioxidants. The function of these antioxidants is to ensure that fatty acids do not turn rancid. It is these antioxidants that might also improve your heart health and reduce your blood pressure.
It is worth noting that you will not get gluten from oats. But you can get them from similar facilities that process grains that contain gluten. Studies have pointed out that oats might be contaminated with other grains, especially barley.
If you are looking to add more antioxidants to your meal, you should look for pinole chia oatmeal for sale.
If you are a chocolate lover, you have a reason to take some today. Dark chocolate is the most nutritious, and you can add it to your meal when looking to enhance the level of antioxidants in your body.
Compared to regular chocolate, dark chocolate has more cocoa. It also contains more antioxidants and other minerals. FRAP analysis indicates that dark chocolate contains at least 15 mmol – or millimoles per liter - of antioxidants for every 3.0 ounces. That is a higher level compared to the likes of raspberries and blueberries.
It is worth noting that the types of antioxidants in dark chocolate and cocoa have massive health benefits. For instance, they can help reduce inflammation and reduce the factors that might lead to heart infections.
Some studies have been conducted to determine the link between cocoa and blood pressure. That is among healthy and unhealthy people with high blood pressure. It was found that when individuals took products rich in cocoa, their systolic pressure was around 4.5 mmHg – or millimeter of mercury.
It was also found that taking cocoa-rich products reduced diastolic blood pressure by at least 2.5 mmHg. Dark chocolate is also shown to reduce the chances of encountering heart complications.
Not many people are aware of the health benefits of blueberries and that they have a lot of antioxidants and nutrients. Best of all, they taste delicious, so you should not have any problem with consuming blueberries.
FRAP indicates that for every 3.5 ounces or 100 grams of blueberries, you will get 9.2 mmol of antioxidants. That is enough to keep your health in check. Studies also show that when compared to some of the most common vegetables and fruits, blueberries contain the highest amounts of antioxidants.
Animal and test-tube studies have been carried out, and they point out that antioxidants contained in blueberries are great - as they might help delay the decline in your brain function. This is a natural process that will happen as you age, but you can reduce its rate if you consume more blueberries.
What happens is that blueberries will help neutralize the free radicals in the brain so that the inflammation is reduced. Due to that, the change in the expression of certain genes in your brain will not happen easily.
If you have not started to integrate blueberries into your health, you are missing out on many health benefits. The ones we have shared in this section are some of them, so you might want to keep doing your homework.
Would you like to enjoy the tremendous health benefits of the foods shared in this guide? Go ahead and get them from your local grocery store today. The good thing is that they are all delicious, so integrating them into your routine should not be a problem.

]]>It is estimated that 30 percent of the American population is taking supplements. However, there are several factors that you have to consider before buying supplements for yourself and your family. Everyone has different health needs. The following tips will help you decide which supplements are right for you.
Before you buy any supplement, it is important to know the body and how it works. This will make it easier for you to choose the right types of food to eat. Even though supplements are helpful, it is important to remember that they are not a replacement for a healthy diet.
You should keep track of what you eat and what your family eats. This will make it easier for you to determine what nutrients you need to supplement.
There are a lot of supplements out there. That is why it can be hard for you to decide which ones are right. You should consult with a professional before buying supplements. A nutritionist, pharmacist, or doctor can tell you which supplements are right for you. They can also tell you where you can buy good supplements from.
Many supplements have additives and ingredients that can harm you. It is a good idea to read the label before you buy any supplements. It is also important to note that some ingredients in your supplements can interact with your medication. This is another reason you need to consult with a doctor before buying supplements.
Supplements are not regulated by the Food and Drug Administration the same way that medications are. However, they can be verified by a third party.
The NSF International and USP are companies that test supplements to ensure that they are of good quality and do not have any contaminants. If you are looking for independent verification of these supplements, consider checking if they use something like LeadPlan Marketing. This also tells you that the supplements in question are going to be high quality and useful for you and your family.
Supplements can help improve your health and the health of your family members. However, you need to find out exactly what your body needs. You should also consult with a professional. You need to check the ingredients before buying a supplement. Additionally, you need to check the supplement for third-party verification.

]]>We have often heard that health is wealth. It certainly is. To keep yourself healthy, you need to stay away from infections and diseases, as well as have a robust immune system. Unfortunately, some conditions are silent, and they progress silently in your body until they have harmed a significant part of your body.
For this reason, it is essential to have annual and biannual health check-ups to check if everything is alright in your body. These elements are an issue as they affect your quality of life and can slow you down and bring about more negative consequences that continue to increase over time. Here are four types of health check-ups you should complete annually.
At times, when we don’t feel good due to some minor health issue such as headache, migraine, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea, we tend to take regular medicines as a temporary cure measure for these diseases. However, these diseases may be due to some underlying cause.
Often migraines and headaches don’t just happen, and there is always a cause behind it. Hence, an annual blood pressure screening is mandatory. According to the American Health Association, AHA, you should have your blood pressure checked annually starting from age 20 if it falls below 120/80 mm Hg.
A cholesterol check-up is one of the most critical health check-ups one should have. It gives you an idea if you are prone to cardiovascular diseases, also known as heart diseases. Your cholesterol should be less than 200 milligrams per deciliter. If you are obese and believe that you don’t follow a healthy lifestyle, this is one of your most critical health check-ups.
The incidence of cancer is increasing day by day globally; in women as breast cancer. A mammogram is a screening test for breast cancer. It involves capturing the X-ray image of the breast to check for any metastatic cells capable of becoming a cancerous tumor. Women should have a mammogram annually starting from the age of 45.
As we age, our bones become weak and soft. Especially women are prone to low bone density due to menopause which gives rise to body conditions such as osteoporosis. From the age of 50 or above, you should have a bone density screening test annually to prevent bone softness and decreased bone density which makes you prone to fractures.
You might not think much about the importance of eye exams, however, they can tell you a lot about your health. There are several common eye conditions that can manifest themselves as you age. It is especially important to visit an eye care center each year if your family has a history of conditions like glaucoma or cataracts.
It can be easy to ignore your health as you go through your busy life, however, there are certain screenings that need to be done annually. Remember the above five health screenings to schedule this year.

]]>Everyone is guilty of indulging in unhealthy habits every once in a while. Whether it's binge-watching a Netflix show for hours on end, drinking a little too much when you go out or unhealthy eating habits, it's easy to reach for the more unhealthy option in any aspect of life.
However, if you have the motivation to change, you can improve your life and implement healthier habits. If you want to start making positive, healthy changes, you can begin by using these tips. It's important to remember that creating habits don't have to mean life-altering changes to your routine. Oftentimes, it can be small things that can make a sizable difference.
One of the best healthy habits that you can start today is to fuel your body properly. Whether that means working on eating more consistently throughout the day, lessening snacking or incorporating more vegetables, there are many ways that you can improve your eating habits.
The foods you eat and nutrients you take in during the course of the day have a huge impact on your mood, brain function and energy levels. If you struggle to get in enough nutrients, consider finding a supplement that suits your needs. A supplement such as a hormone balance supplement can help your body and mind work better.
Other popular supplements, such as collagen powder, can help bone health and brain function. A daily multivitamin is also a great way to ensure your body is getting the nutrients it needs. Make sure you're eating enough healthy fats, proteins and complex carbohydrates during each meal.
In particular, creating a habit of eating a good breakfast every day can help your energy level and lead to a more productive day. A food like oatmeal, which helps to regulate your blood sugar, can help give a more steady release of energy than a sugary cereal or pastry.
For lunch, adding an avocado to your salad or sandwich is a great way to add in some healthy fats to your meal, which will help provide you with energy and helps you absorb essential vitamins.
Most people know that adults require between seven and nine hours of sleep, but many don't realize the quality of sleep is as important as the amount of time you sleep. If you're constantly tossing and turning during the night and not actually being able to get a good amount of rest, your body and mind will suffer.
Sleep helps us process our day both physically and mentally by repairing joints and restoring energy, among many other things. Being sleep-deprived consistently can lead to many problems and is even shown to weaken your immune system.
You can make getting good-quality sleep a habit by setting up a good nighttime routine and addressing any issues that may be preventing you from sleeping as restfully as you want to, such as insomnia or joint pain.
A nighttime routine can include things like reading a book before bed, taking a sleep aid or drinking a cup of tea before bed. Getting into any kind of routine will help you sleep better, as it will help signal to your brain when it's time for bed.
Of course, exercise is a great healthy habit to try and begin. However, you can even start with something smaller than doing traditional exercise and make an effort to just move a little bit more each day.
This may include things like parking farther away at the grocery store or taking the stairs instead of the elevator at work. No matter how you choose to move, studies consistently show that physical activity helps you both physically and emotionally is a great stress reliever.
There are many ways to implement more healthy habits into your life that only require a little bit of effort. These simple habits can help you feel better both physically and mentally.

Now more than ever, it’s crucial to maintain good oral health and to stop the spread of germs within your home. Poor oral hygiene can lead to gum disease, weakening your immune system, and leaving you more susceptible to dangerous viruses like COVID-19.
As the world faces a global pandemic, there are many precautions that everyone can take to safeguard themselves and their loved ones against viral transmission. One easy way to stay healthy is to ensure that you keep your toothbrush clean and free from harmful microbes.
Learn how to use, clean, and maintain your toothbrush to minimize your chances of catching or passing on coronavirus.
Research suggests that coronavirus spreads through droplets from someone’s respiratory tract. It can be passed from one person to another in saliva or nasal discharge found on hands, and when talking, sneezing, or coughing. You can also catch COVID-19 from coming into direct contact with a contaminated item or surface.
To prevent spreading the virus in your home, you must clean your toothbrush thoroughly before and after use. If you have coronavirus, you’ll transfer harmful microbes to your toothbrush whenever you brush your teeth.
It is important to remember that a substantial portion of people that catch coronavirus are asymptomatic. So, even if you feel fine, take the extra time and effort to prioritize toothbrush safety.
It is also important to regularly consult your dentist in Wigston if you are experiencing dental problems or for advice on toothbrush safety.
There are several measures you can take to ensure that your toothbrush is safe for use.
If you and your family or flat mates share a toothbrush-holder, this is a potential site for viral transmission. You might transfer harmful germs to your toothbrush as you clean your teeth, and then place the toothbrush in the holder where those germs might move to other brushes.
For better hygiene, use a toothbrush protector cap and keep your toothbrush in a different location. Assign separate cups or holders for each member of the household, or keep your toothbrush in your bedroom on your nightstand.
Make sure that your kids are fully aware of the importance of being the sole user of their toothbrush. To make it easier for them to recognize their personal toothbrush, consider writing their names on them, or buying toothbrushes with different patterns or characters for each child.
If you have a manual toothbrush, it’s best to replace it around three times a year as the bristles will lose their effectiveness after a few months. This can lead to tooth and gum problems.
If you are ill, use your existing toothbrush to clean your teeth while you self-isolate for 14 days. Then, once you’re better, dispose of it carefully by placing it in a sealed Ziploc bag and placing it in the trash.
If you share toothpaste, avoid bringing your toothbrush into contact with any part of the tube. Press the toothpaste onto the tip of a cotton bud or coffee stirrer before applying it to the toothbrush. This action ensures you’re not exchanging mouth secretions with anyone else.
You should wash and sanitize your hands as much as possible during the pandemic. This is one of the simplest methods for killing harmful germs and preventing viral transmission.
When it comes to brushing your teeth, this practice of hand-washing becomes even more crucial. When you use your toothbrush, you’re bringing your hands up close to your mouth, and so are more likely to pass germs into your respiratory tract.
If your hands have picked up harmful microbes from a contaminated surface, then you run the risk of accidental transfer.
Ensure you sanitize and wash your hands before and after brushing or using mouthwash. Clean them with soap and warm water for a minimum of 20 seconds.
In general, hot running water is enough to get your toothbrush clean after each use. However, during the pandemic experts recommend that you sanitize your toothbrush regularly to eliminate harmful microbes that hot water won’t kill.
There are three simple ways to eliminate pathogens on your toothbrush. Soak in antibacterial mouthwash or a dilute three percent hydrogen peroxide solution. Or, combine two teaspoons of baking soda in a cup of warm water and soak overnight.
It’s imperative that everyone maintains proper oral hygiene and uses clean, regularly sanitized toothbrushes during this global pandemic.
When it comes to oral healthcare and teeth-brushing, there are plenty of ways to keep your toothbrush safe and minimize the likelihood of harmful germ transmission among your loved ones and within your own home.

]]>The most frequent place age spots occur is in the skin with the greatest exposure to the sun. Generally, they appear on the age spots are harmless, but they can show up in unappealing places on your face or hands. Here are a few key things about age spots including the signs and symptoms, prevention, treatment, and remedies.
]]>What Are Age Spots?
Age spots, or solar lentigines, is an increase of melanin in your skin. Melanin is a natural part of your body and is the pigment that gives your skin its color.
ace, neck, hands, arms, shoulders, and upper back. Typically they are flat and darker than the surrounding skin. They can be tan, brown, or black. Sometimes they are small enough that they resemble freckles.
The size of age spots can vary. They can be as large as three centimeters (a bit more than an inch), or as small as 1 millimeter (about the width of the sharp end of a pencil). Typically age spots group together, which makes them potentially look larger or more prominent.
What Causes Age Spots?
When you expose your skin to direct sunlight, the body produces extra melanin to protect itself from ultraviolet (UV) rays. This can be seen when you tan and your skin tone becomes darker. Age spots appear when your body produces excess melanin, and then that melanin in the skin clumps together.
Direct exposure to UV rays is the main cause of increased melanin production, and just getting older can also speed it up. This is why age spots generally start appearing in people beginning around 40 years old.
How Can I Prevent Age Spots?
Reducing your exposure to direct sunlight is the best thing you can do to prevent age spots. Some advise that you avoid direct sunlight between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. when the sun’s rays are most intense. That means scheduling outdoor activities either before 10 a.m. or after 4 p.m.
If you are going to be in the sun, wearing sunscreen will help prevent damage to your skin. Sunscreen helps protect your skin from both UVA and UVB rays. A low SPF sunscreen of 15 is enough to help protect you against damaging your skin. If you are planning an outdoor activity, make sure to apply your sunscreen 15 to 30 minutes before you start, and reapply every two hours.
Protecting your skin from the sun is the most helpful thing you can do. Wearing pants or a full-length dress, as well as long sleeves, will help protect your skin from the sun’s damaging rays. If you want to wear a hat, consider wearing a broad-brimmed hat rather than a baseball cap or visor that will better protect your ears and neck from the sun.
What Is the Treatment for Age Spots?
Age spots are of no threat to your health, but they can be a cosmetic concern. There are a few options when trying to reduce the appearance of an age spot.
Prescription bleaching creams (hydroquinone) used alone or with retinoids (tretinoin) and a mild steroid can help lighten the appearance of an age spot over the course of a few months. When you use this option you might experience reddening, burning, dryness, or itching. It is strongly recommended to wear a natural sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 to help fight against those side effects and to protect the skin from any further damage.
Laser therapy can also be an option for reducing age spots. Laser therapy destroys melanocytes, pigment-producing cells, without damaging the skin’s surface. Multiple sessions are required for the best results, and you can see fading as soon as a few weeks, or as long as a few months.
Liquid nitrogen or another freezing agent can also be used to destroy excessive pigment to reduce the appearance of age spots. Cryotherapy is usually used on a single large age spot or a smaller grouping of spots.
What Are Home Remedies for Age Spots?
Research shows that applying aloe vera extract, orchid extract, mulberry extract, licorice extract, and vitamin C can help reduce the appearance of age spots. Trusted Health Products Earth and Elm Nourishing Body Oil can also lighten and remove the appearance of age spots. As a part of any of these home remedies, adequate sun protection is a must for a good outcome.

]]>The initial symptoms of this condition include white spots in the mouth. The spots are generally creamy in texture. They can be seen on the gums, inner cheek, tongue and the tonsils. They can sometimes be painful and there may even be a little bit of blood around the spots if they are prodded or scraped in any way. You may also experience cracked skin at the corners of your mouth. This can be incredibly painful. There have also been reports of difficulty swallowing.
Candida Overproduction
There are a few different things that ultimately can occur that may be attributed to oral thrush. The first is a reduced immune system. If your immune system is compromised in any way or you have a propensity of getting sick often, you may be at risk for the overproduction of candida. If you are on a lot of different medications, you may find that your body is more susceptible to other things that may be attacking it. So be very careful about the medications you take at any given time. If you are undergoing any type of treatment for a different disease, you also may be at greater risk.
The white mucus-like signs in the mouth may be raised or irritated upon inspection. These are called mucosa, which is a mucous membrane that gathers and populates in the mouth when you are suffering from oral thrush. It is very unpleasant and can cause difficulty eating and bad breath. Plus a yeast overgrowth anywhere in your body is not something you want to leave untreated. It can spread and get into your urinary tract and even your stomach. This type of mucus usually takes hold of the plaque that is also in the mouth and helps to spread it and populate new bacteria. Overall, this condition is very bad news and should be tended to as soon as symptoms are noticeable.
This is why keeping up with your hygiene practices are essential. Those with poor or lackadaisical hygiene are more susceptible to experiencing an overgrowth of candida. While many dentists would suggest prescription medication to eradicate this issue, you can actually use natural products. Just a little bit of baking soda and vinegar will help to eliminate the unnecessary fungus that perpetually grows in the mouth of those who suffer from oral thrush. Rinse your mouth with this mixture a couple times a day. It is completely safe and doesn't have to be swallowed in order to work the way that it is designed to.

]]>Struggling with chronic headaches can greatly diminish your quality of life and make accomplishing work and home-related tasks much more difficult. If you suffer from frequent migraines or other intense headaches, there are some methods that you can try to achieve relief. Here are five tips for fending off headaches and migraines.
]]>Avoid Bright Lights
Bright lights can trigger headaches, and finding ways to avoid glaring lighting as much as possible can help alleviate your suffering. Bright lights can cause more eye strain and force you to squint the muscles around your eyes, which can contribute further to the intensity of headaches. If you’re experiencing a headache, one of the best things to do is go into a dark room or find another area where light is dimmer.
Exercise Regularly
Simply going out for jogs or hitting the gym regularly can help keep headaches at bay. Headaches are often triggered by stress, and exercise can put the body into a calmer state naturally by increasing blood flow and endorphins.
Try Natural Products
Certain products that are formulated to relieve headaches include natural ingredients that provide additional health benefits. Using a headache relief roll on remedy that’s made with menthol and eucalyptus leaf oil may work especially well for you. Peppermint, magnesium and lavender essential oil are other natural products that are often effective in treating headaches.
Stay Hydrated
Not drinking enough water or other beverages that give the body sufficient fluid levels can cause headaches. It’s usually best to consume 64 to 80 ounces of fluid within a 24-hour period to keep the body hydrated. You also shouldn’t drink a lot of caffeinated beverages that can dehydrate the body and even contribute to your headaches.
Eat The Right Foods
What you eat can play a big role in how often you get headaches. Cucumbers, cherries and fortified whole-grain cereal are among the best foods for combatting headaches. Foods that may induce headaches include cured meats, cheese and foods with MSG, and they should be avoided whenever possible. You may be surprised to learn that avocadoes and bananas can also trigger headaches because of their high levels of tyramine, which causes blood vessels to constrict and expand.
Finding out what works best to keep your migraines or other intense headaches under control can help you live a better life. Following these tips can put you on the road to fewer headaches for the long term.

]]>Derived from sugar alcohol, glycerin is often found in beauty products because it’s so universally versatile. It can help skin of all types find harmony and beauty, all in a natural form. When you use glycerin for healthy skin, you can incorporate it in many ways.
Here are the best benefits you can get while using glycerin to make your skin healthy and gorgeous.
Mega-Moisturizer
Glycerin is an ideal ingredient in moisturizers because it’s a humectant which means it helps draw moisture straight from the air and right into your skin. When you use it regularly, it will keep your skin soft and hydrated. If you have dry skin, it can make all the difference in its appearance.
Acne Clearer
Another great thing glycerin can do is clear away acne. As such, it’s also ideal for oily skin which needs moisture too. The difference is that glycerin won’t leave your skin feeling greasy like oil-based products do. In fact, this is why it’s often included in oil-free formulations. Plus, it’s also known for getting away those notoriously difficult to clear blackheads!
Anti-Age Fighter
Because glycerin is so good at smoothing, softening, and plumping skin up with hydration, you’ll find it’s a wonderful way to slow down the visible signs of aging. It gets into little lines and helps boost elasticity for a more youthful appearance.
Skin Disease Hero
When you have skin diseases like psoriasis or eczema, it can be an embarrassing condition. A study published in the Journal of Investigative Dermatology found that glycerin helps skin cells to mature properly, preventing abnormal shedding as common with these skin conditions. Glycerin truly is a hero for assisting skin’s natural repair and regeneration.
Blemish Fader
Getting rid of age spots, blemishes, and marks is tough stuff. But with glycerin, you can get healthy, refined skin that looks harmonious more and more with every use. By maintaining proper pH for your skin, it helps give your complexion a flawless finish.
Cracked Lip Cure
When lips become dry, cracked, and chapped, they’re anything but attractive. Chemical-filled lip balms put us in close contact with toxins, but glycerin is non-toxic and works just as well, if not better, than those other options for smoothing and soothing your lips.
Glycerin is truly a go-to ingredient for healthy skin. It masters all facets of skin health and healing with proven results. If you’re looking to improve your skin’s texture, suppleness, clarity, smoothness, and softness, choose skincare products that use glycerin to help achieve your best healthy skin.
