Hormones affect everything from your ability to sleep to your tendency to gain, lose or maintain weight to how clear your thinking is. When hormones get out of whack, life may generally feel harder and staying productive may begin to feel impossible. Women, in particular, can experience a great deal of hormonal fluctuation, especially in conjunction with their monthly cycles, pregnancy and menopause.

Pain and PMS impacted by hormones

Hormones play a role in how heavy a woman’s flow is, how long it lasts, how regular it is and even how painful it can become. An imbalance can challenge the body’s ability to perform its basic functions and tasks in the most optimal and efficient way. If you feel like your body is struggling to perform the way it used to, it might be time to think about a hormone balance supplement to assist your body’s natural requirements.

Sleep Quality impacted by hormones

Hormones play a massive role in a person’s ability to both fall asleep and stay asleep. Sleep disturbance from hormone fluctuations can be especially prevalent during pregnancy, menopause and even perimenopause. If a woman suffers from PMS, even monthly cycles may have an impact on sleep.

Although current society tends to brush off how insufficient and low-quality sleep is normal and unavoidable parts of modern life, sleep is critical to a variety of a body’s needs. Much of a body’s healing and repair, along with the brain’s ability to make sense of the world, occur during sleep. How a person functions during the day and whether that person poses a safety risk to others, such as when driving, are also impacted by sleep.

Body Fat and Weight Loss impacted by hormones

You may be surprised to learn that scientific research is finding hormones are linked to body fat. In fact, there are quite a few hormones that have an impact, each in slightly different ways. For example, insulin and cortisol have both been shown to increase the body’s tendency to store fat.

Leptin lets you know when you’re satisfied, while ghrelin tells your body that it’s time to eat. While this is only a handful from a rather long list, the upshot is that your hormones may have more to do with your ability to maintain your physique or lose your last 10 pounds than controlling calories can ever achieve.

Mood and Irritability impacted by hormones

If you feel lately like you are experiencing more bouts of irritability and less patience than usual, your hormones may be playing a role. Even estrogen and progesterone, hormones involved in maintaining proper function within women’s reproductive systems, are linked to emotions such as anger, anxiety and impulsivity. Finding optimal ways to support your body’s natural hormonal requirements may lead to greater senses of well-being, tolerance and peace.

Bone Density impacted by hormones

Researchers have found that the ability to build new bone slows down as people age, making older individuals more susceptible to fractures and less able to quickly heal afterward. One of the factors under consideration is hormones.

Estrogen and progesterone, for example, work in tandem to break down and rebuild bone, but there are other hormones which factor into bone density as well. Failing to take a proactive approach in supporting your system’s proper hormonal balance may negatively impact the strength and resilience of your bones.

Muscle Mass impacted by hormones

Another type of strength to look out for is the health of your skeletal muscles. Testosterone, cortisol and insulin are some of the known perpetrators which impact whether you gain or lose muscle.

If you feel like you’re losing muscle or having a hard time packing it on, hormone imbalance may be involved. This is also another area where aging can have a negative impact on your goals, so looking for answers without delay is important.

Finding your optimal hormone balance could have a life-altering impact on how you feel, how productive you are, and how healthy you remain as you age. If you have found yourself feeling more sluggish, less balanced, less energetic or having other unpleasant effects, it may be time to start investigating hormonal imbalance.
