Skin Care Myths Wrongly Believed By Many
It is a myth that most people wrongly believed in. It is a myth that preservatives in skin care products are harmful. Preservatives are contained in most skin care products like moisturizers, cleansers, make up and sunscreen lotions. And that the growth of bacteria and fungi is prevented by preservatives. The most common classes of preservatives is known as the parabens, in which it includes methylparaben, propylparaben and butylparaben.
It was found out in the study in 2002 that the parabens is found in the breast cancer tissue and has been determined that it might cause breast cancer. It is not even known whether topical application of parabens leads to their accumulation in our bodies. In patients with eczema, parabens can cause a reaction, or in people who have allergies to these compounds. This makes it reasonable for these people to be able to avoid them. The rest of us can be guided by the conclusion published in 2006 by the FDA that cosmetics containing parabens are safe.
