Fibromyalgia and Vitamin B1Thiamine, also known as vitamin B1, was the first B vitamin discovered. Every cell in the human body needs vitamin B1 to make adenosine triphosphate, or ATP, the body's main energy-carrying molecule. Deficiency in vitamin B1 may be the missing link to successful treatment of fibromyalgia. The symptoms of vitamin B1 deficiency and fibromyalgia are strikingly similar: mood swings, frequent headaches, unusual fatigue, muscle tenderness upon pressure palpitation, muscular weakness, irritable bowel syndrome, and sleep disturbances.
